Don Woodruff

Retired from FedEx and dedicated to sharing God's Word with others. I send out devotionals weekly and have written two books: "The Crucifixion Catalyst / Unspoken Messages From God To Believers" (published and available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble **out of print**) and "I'm Saved Now What?" (unpublished). I am currently working on a third one that will be a Daily Devotional. The devotionals on my Blog have been viewed by people in all 50 states and over 120 foreign countries. I sincerely believe the Lord provides the content for the devotionals and in 2013 He “tasked” me with distributing them and storing them on my Blog. They are free and I will not solicit any donations. I hope you enjoy them and feel free to leave comments if one of them speaks to you personally, or if you have a suggestion.

I’M SAVED, NOW WHAT? (part-31)

I’M SAVED, NOW WHAT? PEACEMAKINGOne of the characteristics of having spiritual wisdom is, owning an attitude that loves peace. James expounds on the topic of peace and the benefits of being a peacemaker.     Peacemakers who sow in peace     reap a harvest of righteousness.     (James 3:18) In our daily choices we either ‘sow … Continue reading

NEW DEVOTIONAL SERIES ON “JOY” STARTS SOON!

Life can have many “ups” and “downs”, can’t it? We know how “joy” can have a calming effect on our emotions, but too often it can seem far away from us, and instead of enjoying peace in the storm, too often we find ourselves in turmoil as one crisis after another demands our attention. Without … Continue reading

I’M SAVED, NOW WHAT? HEAVENLY WISDOM To contrast the attitudes created in hell mentioned in the previous devotional (part-29), James gives us the traits of heavenly wisdom.     But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure;     then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy     and good fruit, impartial and sincere. … Continue reading

I’M SAVED, NOW WHAT? ENVY AND BOASTING There are many characteristics that should not be evident or even detected in the lives of believers; James mentions two of them.     But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts,     do not boast about it or deny the truth. (James 3:14) ‘Envy’ … Continue reading

I’M SAVED, NOW WHAT? (part-28)

I’M SAVED, NOW WHAT? TAMING THE TONGUE James reminds us that we have the ability for taming all kinds of animals, yet we do a lousy job of controlling our own tongues.     All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles and sea creatures     are being tamed and have been tamed by mankind, but     no … Continue reading

THE JOY OF THE LORD IS YOUR STRENGTH!!

BIBLE PASSAGE: Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” (Nehemiah 8:10) MEDITATION: What do people see when they look at you? Do they see … Continue reading

I’M SAVED, NOW WHAT? (part-27)

I’M SAVED, NOW WHAT? USE OF TONGUES Just to be sure his point about ‘misusing our tongue’ is understood, James gives us an example of how something small can control something large.     When we put bits into the mouths of horses to make them     obey us, we can turn the whole animal.Or take … Continue reading

I’M SAVED, NOW WHAT? STUMBLING / IMPERFECTIONLiving as a Christian has its share of challenges and disappointments. Our disappointments can increase dramatically whenever we succumb to temptations. I’M SAVED, NOW WHAT? TEACHING During the first century, teachers were honored members of the community. Since there was recognition with the position, some people wanted to be teachers for all the wrong reasons – they wanted the honor and respect that came with the position, but many failed to understand that being a teacher … Continue reading

I’M SAVED, NOW WHAT? (part-24)

I’M SAVED, NOW WHAT? BELIEF IN GOD James shifts his focus to belief in God.     You believe that there is one God. Good!     Even the demons believe that—and shudder.     (James 2:19) He says it is good to believe there is one God, but implies that much more is required for salvation. Salvation … Continue reading
