DEVOTIONALS

HOW WOULD YOU RESPOND TO THE QUESTION, “WHAT IS YOUR DESTINY?”

SCRIPTURE:
“Who are you, Lord?” Saul asked. “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,”
he replied. “Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what
you must do.”
(Acts 9:5-6)

MEDITATION:
Saul (later called Paul)
was about as far away from the Lord as anyone could be.
Not only did he not have a personal relationship with the Lord,
but he was persecuting those who belonged to the Lord.
Then, on the way to Damascus,
the most dramatic (and important) thing happened to him.
Saul met the Lord and his life was forever changed.

He had a new outlook on life and a new destiny.
It was at this point when he came to a place of total surrender to the God.
He came to a place of brokenness and was ready to yield to God’s desires.
This is the beginning of greatness in God’s Kingdom.

Like Saul, we cannot come into the presence of God and remain the same.
Our past way of life and actions
will always change when we come into His presence.

In their prayers, many people are saying, “I want You to...”.
While God is concerned about our needs, His desire is
that we would come to a place of asking Him, “What do You want me to do?”
We can only imagine the thoughts of Saul
when the Lord said, “you will be told what you must do”.

God wants our obedience, and when we choose to yield to Him,
it is start of when He begins to reveal His plans for our life.
Paul came to a point where nothing mattered
other than the call of God on His life.
It is at this point that God began to fulfill His destiny in Paul.

If we desire for God to fulfill His destiny in us,
then we must come to the same place that Paul did.
Access to ALL our Heavenly Father has, comes from surrender to Him.
His desire and purpose is that Jesus would be manifested through us.

ACTION:
Are you excited about God changing your life and destiny?
He would never give us direction
and a destiny that is boring and unfulfilling.
On the contrary, He wants us to enjoying the excitement of serving Him.
No longer are we stuck in a rut (which is a grave with both ends kicked out).

You may be wondering how you can serve Him.
We can all start by being totally committed to worshipping Him
and being unashamed for others to know that we are.
Then, we can pray and await His direction as we connect more with Him.

Pray,
“Heavenly Father, thank You for loving me enough to change my destiny
when I surrender to You. Forgive me for thinking that when You gave me
Your salvation, that was the end of it. Help me to be sensitive to Your
desires for me and readily accept my new destiny. I look forward to how
You will lead me from this day forward. Like Saul, help me to totally
surrender to Your Will for my life, and sincerely ask, “What do You want
me to do?”

(unpublished). I am currently working on a third one that will be a Daily Devotional. The devotionals on my Blog have been viewed by people in all 50 states and over 80 foreign countries. I sincerely believe the Lord provides the content for the devotionals and in 2013 He “tasked” me with distributing them and storing them on my Blog. They are free and I will not solicit any donations. I hope you enjoy them and feel free to leave comments if one of them speaks to you personally, or if you have a suggestion.
