DEVOTIONALS

DO YOU HAVE PROBLEMS AND FRUSTRATIONS THAT SEEM INSURMOUNTABLE?

BIBLE PASSAGE:
Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed;
blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” Jesus
performed many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are
not recorded in this book. But these are written that you may believe
that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you
may have life in his name.
(John 20:29-31)

MEDITATION:
Question:
    “Is life worth living?”
For some people, living the ‘good life’ life can seem unattainable.
Why? Because it seems that every day there are new problems
they must cope with.

Some have constant pressure at work as demands for faster
and better increase. Some have pressure in trying to raise a
family and maintain the home. People in the workforce feel
pressure, and ‘stay at home’ moms feel pressure. Some are
experiencing relationship problems that are complicated
and don’t seem to be improving.

Some have said they feel like throwing up their hands and quitting.
Problems seem insurmountable and worry about potential problems
is on the rise. There is a growing lack of trust in others, and in the
government.

So, how should we cope with the things that destroy our joy of living?
There is good (actually great) news for everyone! God did not create
us to be defeated, discouraged, frustrated wandering souls, searching
in vain for peace of heart and peace of mind. He has bigger plans for
us and a greater life as well.

The answer to our problems, however great they might be, is as near
as our Bible. It is as simple as first-grade arithmetic, and as real as
our heartbeat. The authority of God’s Word tells us that Christ is
our answer to every baffling perplexity that plagues mankind.

In Him, we can find the cure for our problems. He is the One who
can lift our spirits, encourage us, and give us a new and meaningful
purpose for living. A growing number of people want to tell us that
He doesn’t exist. This is a lie originating from Satan who has gained
control of some and is using them as his venue for spreading the lies.

We all have a choice to make, don’t we? We can either believe what
we are told about God’s non-existence, or we can read His Word,
believe He does exist, follow His instructions, develop a relationship
with Him and have faith that at the end of our life on earth, He will
welcome us into Heaven and our eternal home.

When we believe His promise, we will discover a new strength
for carrying on even when we have difficulties of many kinds.
That’s one of His many promises to mankind.
He gives strength to the weary and increases the
power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and
weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those
who hope in the LORD will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run
and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
    (Isaiah 40:29-31)

ACTION:
Questions to consider:
    – Am I nearing a breaking point in my life?
    – Does I feel like the walls are closing in on me
and nobody understands what I am going through?
    – Are problems mounting and causing
me to think there is no way to find relief?

If your answers to these questions is, “Yes”, then don’t become
a victim of the lies of the devil, but choose to read God’s Word
and seek the Lord with all your heart, soul, body and mind.
Glory in his holy name; let the hearts
of those who seek the Lord rejoice.
    (1 Chronicles 16:10)

Those who know your name trust in you,
for you, Lord, have never forsaken those
    who seek you.
    (Psalm 9:10)

The lions may grow weak and hungry, but
those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.
    (Psalm 34:10)

I love those who love me,
and those who seek me find me.
    (Proverbs 8:17)

When we are members of God’s family, the problems may still exist,
but we will discover new ways of coping with them. We will know
that God understands all we are going through, and we will trust
that He will give us what we need to endure what seems overwhelming.

The answer to the question, “Is life worth living?” is a resounding, “Yes!”.
God has a plan for each of us and it’s an exciting and sometimes challenging
plan, but it has a purpose. His plan will help us realize we have a purpose for
living and His plan is rewarding now and will result in an even more blissful
eternal life.

Rather than allowing ourselves to feel like our life is one big rut of problems,
boredom and uselessness, we need to seek God’s will for us so we can engage
in a new and exciting life with a purpose – a good and rewarding purpose
because it has been designed by God especially for you and me. He knows
and understands our needs, and His plan for us is tailor-made for what we
are capable of achieving.

Pray,
“Heavenly Father, I am thankful that You understand what I am going
through, even if my friends and family do not. Your Word tells me that
if I seek You with all my heart, I will find You. Lord, I am tired of trying
to cope with everything on my own and I am frustrated in my efforts to
find relief. I pray that You will guide me and help me to find You, to
believe and trust in You, and develop a daily (even hourly) relationship
with You. I am thankful that the life You would have me to live is one of
joy and fulfillment. Thank You in advance for the peace You will bring
into my life, and how You will give me a new purpose for living. Thank
You for Your love and the plan You designed for me before I was born.”

About Don Woodruff

Retired from FedEx and dedicated to sharing God's Word with others. I send out devotionals weekly and have written two books: "The Crucifixion Catalyst / Unspoken Messages From God To Believers" (published and available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble **out of print**) and "I'm Saved Now What?" (unpublished). I am currently working on a third one that will be a Daily Devotional. The devotionals on my Blog have been viewed by people in all 50 states and over 120 foreign countries. I sincerely believe the Lord provides the content for the devotionals and in 2013 He “tasked” me with distributing them and storing them on my Blog. They are free and I will not solicit any donations. I hope you enjoy them and feel free to leave comments if one of them speaks to you personally, or if you have a suggestion.
