THE BIBLE: GOD’S WORD – READ IT AND ENJOY IT

“For, all people are like grass,
and all their glory is like the flowers of the field;
the grass withers and the flowers fall,
but the word of the Lord endures forever.
And this is the word that was preached to you.”
1 Peter 1:24-25

The Bible is the incontestable, incorruptible,
indestructible, and indispensable Word of God.
No one can argue with it.
Nothing can corrupt it.
Nothing can destroy it.
Nothing can replace it as the source and refreshing spring of life.
The late Dr. Robert G. Lee, a great preacher, said this about the Bible:
“All of its enemies have not torn one hole in its holy vesture,
or stolen one flower from its wonderful garden,
nor diluted one honey from its abundant hive,
nor broken one string of its thousand-stringed harp,
nor drowned one sweet word in infidel ink.”
Have you spent, or do you spend very much time reading God’s Word?
Don’t shortchange yourself by missing out on the Lord’s communication to you.
The bible provides hope for those who are not part of the Lord’s family.
It also opens up new revelations to those who are in His family.
It is not a book full of “Thee’s and Thou’s” but it IS a book
full of exciting information for dealing with the challenges we
face in our daily lives.
It is also loaded with inspirations for serving on the Lord’s team.
Do you feel that life has you in a hammerlock?  Read the bible.
Do you feel no one understands you and your issues?  Read the bible.
Do you feel that you are in a boring rut?  Read the bible.
Do you need comfort and/or consolation?  Read the bible.
Do you feel the pressure of overwhelming challenges?  Read the bible.
Get the idea?
The bible has so much to offer everyone, BUT you have to read it
to fully appreciate how it can impact your life.
The bible is filled with information from the omnipotent God
of the universe to all of us collectively and to each of us individually.

If you need help in better understanding what the scriptures are
communicating, then attend worship services at a local church
where the pastor is equipped to explain God’s Word.
Don’t rely on just your own understanding,
you could be missing some exciting and important information.
If you also want an environment where you can ask questions
and discuss the scriptures, then attend a bible study class
at a local church where the teacher is equipped to lead the discussions.

If you have spent time reading the bible then tell God
how much your life has changed because of His Word.
Be prepared to tell others how God has ministered to you through His Word.
You may say, “Well that’s personal”.
How many ‘personal’ things do you share with others already?

About Don Woodruff

Retired from FedEx and dedicated to sharing God's Word with others. I send out devotionals weekly and have written two books: "The Crucifixion Catalyst / Unspoken Messages From God To Believers" (published and available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble **out of print**) and "I'm Saved Now What?" (unpublished). I am currently working on a third one that will be a Daily Devotional. The devotionals on my Blog have been viewed by people in all 50 states and over 80 foreign countries. I sincerely believe the Lord provides the content for the devotionals and in 2013 He “tasked” me with distributing them and storing them on my Blog. They are free and I will not solicit any donations. I hope you enjoy them and feel free to leave comments if one of them speaks to you personally, or if you have a suggestion.
