BIBLE PASSAGE:
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:
The old has gone, the new is here!
(2 Corinthians 5:17)
MEDITATION:
Something to ponder:
When reading God’s Word,
we discover that the number 7 represents ‘complete’.
Of course that means that the number 6 represents ‘incomplete’.
We also discover that some things are repeated for emphasis.
For instance, “Holy, Holy, Holy”
emphasizes that our God is completely “Holy”!
In contrast, the numbers “666” emphasize complete incompleteness.
When the book of Revelation uses “666”
it is saying, “incomplete, incomplete, incomplete!”
That is the status of all of us without Jesus;
we have fallen short of completeness.
“for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23)
In essence, we have the ‘mark of the beast’ if we are unsaved.
However, when we believe in Jesus and invite Him into our lives,
our status of 6 (incomplete) is increased by one, making us a 7 (complete).
With Jesus, we no longer have the mark of the beast;
we move from being “incomplete” to a status of “complete”.
Satan wants to subtract from our lives
the good things that make us complete,
but Jesus adds to our lives the things that will complete us.
We can see the stark contrast between Satan and Jesus.
Satan wants to harm us, disrupt our lives, and doom us
to eternal suffering separated from the God who loves us.
But Jesus wants to help us, to add completeness to our lives,
and to give us a hope and promise of eternal happiness.
Jesus called his disciples to him and said, “I have compassion
for these people; they have already been with me three days
and have nothing to eat. I do not want to send them away
hungry, or they may collapse on the way.” (Matthew 15:32)
ACTION:
When we invite Jesus into our lives,
we can say goodbye to the incompleteness of our life
and embrace the completeness of our new birth with hope.
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ!
In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living
hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead
(1 Peter 1:3)
When comparing the differences between Jesus and Satan,
doesn’t it just make sense to choose Jesus and become a 7?
What choice have you made?
If you haven’t chosen Jesus,
then by default, you’ve chosen Satan, right?
Pray,
“Heavenly Father, thank You for the promises I can find
in Your Son, Jesus! Thank You that when I am saved, I
can discover a new life of completeness and discard the
incomplete life I have been living. Help me to embrace
the joy and happiness of a new life and create in me a
willingness to allow You to use me, and the spiritual gift
You have given me, to point others to Jesus.”
