SATAN’S TRAPS: SEXUAL SINS (4 of 5)

Satan’s trap of “Sexual sins” (4 of 5)

There are some things we should consider
as a means of preventing sexual sins in our lives.

1. Build strong friendships with those of the same sex;
     develop hobbies, etc.

2. Put on the whole armor of God.
     – When praying at the start of each day, tell the Lord you are…
            – Putting on the breastplate of righteousness
(to guide you to do what is right
                 and avoid what is wrong).
           – Putting on the helmet of salvation
(to guard your thinking throughout the day).

3. Guard our eyes.
     – Proverbs 4:25.
     – We need to think about what we are allowing
our kids (and ourselves) to see.
        Note:
It may be unpopular for awhile and we all
want to be popular with our children,
but we have a responsibility to protect them
from the things that will harm them.

4. Keep the consequences before us.
     – Rather than thinking only about the sinful act,
think also about the consequences of our actions
        (think of the consequences first)

5. Husbands and wives need to meet each other’s needs.
     Note:
Deprivation is a sin against God (Proverbs 5).

6. Remember God is the “need meeter”.
     – God can fulfill whatever need we have in our life
(and He can do it without causing us
to have feelings of guilt, dishonesty, etc.).
     – He knows exactly what we need,
and when we need it (His timing is perfect).
     – We may have a need…
             – As a result of the way someone treated us.
             – As a result of mistakes our parents made raising us.
             Note:
Whatever the reason, God knows about it,
and He knows how to fill that need.

About Don Woodruff

Retired from FedEx and dedicated to sharing God's Word with others. I send out devotionals weekly and have written two books: "The Crucifixion Catalyst / Unspoken Messages From God To Believers" (published and available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble **out of print**) and "I'm Saved Now What?" (unpublished). I am currently working on a third one that will be a Daily Devotional. The devotionals on my Blog have been viewed by people in all 50 states and over 80 foreign countries. I sincerely believe the Lord provides the content for the devotionals and in 2013 He “tasked” me with distributing them and storing them on my Blog. They are free and I will not solicit any donations. I hope you enjoy them and feel free to leave comments if one of them speaks to you personally, or if you have a suggestion.
