DEVOTIONALS

I AM (HE SAID)

BIBLE PASSAGE:
“God said to Moses, “I am who I am. This is what you are
to say to the Israelites: ‘I am has sent me to you.’”
(Exodus 3:14)

MEDITATION:
Have you ever noticed that the title God chose
to describe Himself is an incomplete sentence?
Most people would finish that sentence, “I am (noun)”,
but not our Heavenly Father.
He purposefully did not complete the sentence.

He said, “I AM.”, because He is.
God is not a “was”, or a “will be”, He is an “is”.
No matter which generation, century, decade, year,
or day it is, God is always present in the ‘now’.
Why is that important?

Because every believer can relate to Him on a daily basis.
We don’t have to pray to a God who once existed,
and we don’t have to pray to a God who will appear in the future.
We communicate with our God who is in the present
and therefore knows exactly what we are going through each day.

Some religions are focused on a person who once existed, or an idea,
or a mystical image, but Christians find fellowship with our God who is eternal.
Although it can be difficult to understand,
our God has always existed, and always will exist.

Since we can’t ‘wrap our minds around’ everything about Him,
we are blessed with being able to praise and worship Him by faith.
Webster defines ‘faith’ as ‘complete trust or confidence in something or someone’.
What a perfect definition – we have
complete trust AND confidence in our unseen Heavenly Father.

Webster had it right, but went too far by adding a second description
of faith as, ‘strong belief in God or in the doctrines of religion,
based on spiritual apprehension rather than proof’.

As followers of Christ, we see ‘proof’ around us every day.
Some proofs are visible, but others are a result of answered prayers.
It’s what the world would identify as ‘luck’, or ‘coincidence’,
but as believers, we know when God responds to our needs.

ACTION:
Are you hungry? He is the bread.
Are you in the dark? He is the light.
Are you searching for answers? He is the truth.
Are you lost? He is the way.
Are you in need of guidance? He is your Shepherd.

We could go on and on with examples, but God said it all, “HE IS”.
What need are you looking for God to meet today?
What decisions are you struggling with today?
Trust Him right now to meet you where you are, because “HE IS”.

Pray,
“Heavenly Father, thank You for always being there and knowing the
answers I need before I even ask the questions. Thank You for how You
have helped me in the past, and for assuring me that You will help me
today, and in the future. You are my Lord and King and I have confidence
and trust that You will fulfill whatever needs I have which are for my
benefit, the benefit of others, and will advance Your earthly mission of
pointing others to Your Son, Jesus.”

About Don Woodruff

Retired from FedEx and dedicated to sharing God's Word with others. I send out devotionals weekly and have written two books: "The Crucifixion Catalyst / Unspoken Messages From God To Believers" (published and available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble **out of print**) and "I'm Saved Now What?" (unpublished). I am currently working on a third one that will be a Daily Devotional. The devotionals on my Blog have been viewed by people in all 50 states and over 80 foreign countries. I sincerely believe the Lord provides the content for the devotionals and in 2013 He “tasked” me with distributing them and storing them on my Blog. They are free and I will not solicit any donations. I hope you enjoy them and feel free to leave comments if one of them speaks to you personally, or if you have a suggestion.
