BIBLE PASSAGE:
“And my God will meet all your needs
according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.”
(Philippians 4:19)
MEDITATION:
What is it about your life that you cannot explain, apart from God?
How does it make you feel when you think about that part of your life?
Are you thankful that God is a part of your life? Does it give you a
comfort feeling to know He is a part of your life?
Think about your needs (not your wants, but your needs). Do you
focus more on the wants you don’t have than you do on the needs
that He is providing? How has God provided for you?
Has He given you food, clothing and shelter? Has He given you
skills and abilities to work in order to pay for the necessities of
life? Has He given you special spiritual gifts that you can use in
serving Him?
Has He been beside you during the dark times of your life? Has
He brought you back to Him whenever you began to stray (kept
you on a short leash)? Where are you in your life today? Are you
thankful for God in all things?
Do you show your appreciation by going to His house on a regular
basis to worship, praise and thank Him with others (and worshipping
online when you cannot attend due to sickness or the risk of contracting
a deadly virus because your immune system has been compromised)?
Have you unselfishly given control of your life to the Holy Spirit,
or are you selfishly remaining in control of your own life? Do you
need to have a serious conversation with your Provider?
ACTION:
When you do things for others, you may not be expecting it, but
don’t you like it when they show appreciation? Wouldn’t it just
make sense that we should be appreciative for all that God does
for us?
How is your life radiating your thankfulness of God to others?
If you aren’t already doing this, spend some time each day
thanking God for His love, and how he provides for your needs.
Even if others run away, He is always there, because He loves you.
Pray,
“Heavenly Father, thank You for loving me and providing for
all my needs. I realize that sometimes my wants cause me to
overlook my needs, and the way You meet them on a daily basis.
Help me to start looking past my wants and to appreciate how
You fulfill my needs. The influences of the world can cause me
to take my eyes off You and Your provisions. Help me to change
my focus and realize how thankful I should be for what I have,
because You love and take care of me.”
