DEVOTIONALS

GOD KNOWS ALL ABOUT YOU, AND HE WANTS WHAT IS BEST FOR YOU!

BIBLE PASSAGE:
“For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed
to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among
many brothers and sisters.”
(Romans 8:29)

MEDITATION:
God’s wisdom is supreme!
We sometimes learn from our mistakes ‘after’ we have made them,
but God knows all before the mistakes even happen.
The word “foreknow” is from the Greek word “proginosko”
which means, “to have knowledge beforehand”.

To create a visual of His knowledge, imagine our life is a long parade.
We can only see it at ground level and observe each float as it appears.
However, God’s vantage point allows Him to view the entire parade
from the first float to the last float and all the ones in between.

Imagine the wisdom we would possess if we could
view our entire life, past, present and future at the same time.
Of course, that is impossible for us, but not impossible for God.
With His wisdom, and because He does not show partiality, God has given
every person an opportunity to be “conformed to the image of His Son”.

Some view the word “predestined” as an indication
that God has an elite group and those are the only ones
who can be conformed to the image of Christ.
But, that would be showing favoritism, and that is not in God’s nature.
Now let the fear of the Lord be on you. Judge carefully, for with the Lord
our God there is no injustice or partiality or bribery. (2 Chronicles 19:7)

Our Creator has given every person an opportunity to
respond to His offer of conforming to the image of Christ.
As an expression of His love of mankind, He offers salvation
to everyone (‘whoever’) who desires to have eternal life.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,
that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16)

He also does not show partiality to those who refuse His free gift of salvation.
Those who reject His Son will all suffer the same consequences.
Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe
stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of
God’s one and only Son. (John 3:18)

ACTION:
God loves every individual
with a type of love that we cannot visualize with our finite minds.
It is a love that forgives us when we don’t deserve His forgiveness,
shows us mercy when we don’t deserve His mercy,
gives us grace when we don’t deserve His grace,
and blesses us when we don’t deserve His blessings.

God is our greatest encourager and His desire is for us to enjoy
the good things He has provided (within the boundaries He has established).
If God is for us, who can be against us? (Romans 8:31b)
What a comfort we can find from these words in Romans.

We are also reminded that our relationship with Him should be our highest priority;
after all, God is the One cheering us on toward righteousness and good works.
If we want to increase our peace and joy in this life,
then we need to exchange our will for His Will.
God’s Will leads us toward the good things life has to offer,
which include His blessings.

Pray,
“Heavenly Father, thank You for knowing me better than I know
myself. Thank You for Your forgiveness, mercy, grace, and blessings.
I am comforted by the knowledge that You are for me and want what
is best for me. Forgive me for charting my own paths which can often
lead me away from You. I pray that the Holy Spirit will flourish in my
life and lead me down the path of righteousness and good works. Thank
You Father for Your free gift of salvation to all who choose to believe
(and obey) Your only Son, Jesus.”

About Don Woodruff

Retired from FedEx and dedicated to sharing God's Word with others. I send out devotionals weekly and have written two books: "The Crucifixion Catalyst / Unspoken Messages From God To Believers" (published and available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble **out of print**) and "I'm Saved Now What?" (unpublished). I am currently working on a third one that will be a Daily Devotional. The devotionals on my Blog have been viewed by people in all 50 states and over 80 foreign countries. I sincerely believe the Lord provides the content for the devotionals and in 2013 He “tasked” me with distributing them and storing them on my Blog. They are free and I will not solicit any donations. I hope you enjoy them and feel free to leave comments if one of them speaks to you personally, or if you have a suggestion.

Thank you Mel. Honestly I am blown away at how the Lord provides and guides. Sometimes my own thoughts get in the way and He just shoves them out of the way and replaces them with what He wants to say. I truly love God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit for all they do!! Thanks again for encouraging me!!
