DEVOTIONALS

THE GOD WHO SAVED YOU, WANTS YOU TO CONNECT WITH HIM DAILY

BIBLE PASSAGE:
Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers
will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are
the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.
(John 4:23)

MEDITATION:
Your Heavenly Father has a desire to commune with you in worship.
He is not looking for our money, our glory, our strength, or anything else.
He is looking for our heart.

Have you ever stopped and thought about
the magnitude of His desire to communicate with you?
Your Creator and the God of the universe wants to connect with you.
There are times when friends or family
may not seem interested in you, but God is.
That is amazingly awesome, isn’t it?

Others may not be able to read your heart, but God does.
Sometimes our words or actions may have good intentions but others
fail to notice and appreciate them because they cannot read our hearts.
It can be frustrating at times,
but we have the assurance that God knows us on the surface and deep within.

C. S. Lewis said, “It is in the process of being worshiped
that God communicates His presence to men.”
Some serve God without worshiping Him.
Some pray to God without worshiping Him.
Some sing to God without worshiping Him.

Some teach without worshiping God.
Some witness without worshiping God.
Some work hard in their jobs or at home without worshiping God.
God wants our worship and He tells us that truth in His Word.

Hebrews 10:24-25 is a command (for our benefit) and not a suggestion.
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good
deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing,
but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
(Hebrews 10:24-25)

ACTION:
God’s commands are not a smorgasbord where we can select only
the commands we like, and want to obey (partial obedience is still disobedience).
Think about the last 5-10 times you missed joining with other believers to worship.
What prevented you from participating?
Was it something like a sickness, job obligation, etc., or was it
a decision you made to give a higher priority to some personal desire
over worshiping the God Who wants to communicate with you?

Here is a challenge:
Over the next seven days, read Psalm 95 through Psalm 101.
Read Psalm 95 the first day and finish with Psalm 101 on the seventh day.
Each day, read the Psalm for that day, then pray and read it again slowly.

Pray,
“Heavenly Father, I am thankful that You want to commune with me.
It is difficult for me to understand why You, my awesome heavenly
Father, want to communicate with me, but that is what Your Word says,
so I believe it. Forgive me for the times I have allowed my selfishness
to prevent me from worshiping You. You know of the evil one’s efforts
to convince me that it is okay for me to worship You occasionally, but
I deserve time for pleasing myself, so it is okay to skip worshiping You.
Purify my mind and change my heart so that I will look forward to
worshiping You when I am alone, and when I am with others who belong
to You.”

The devotionals God sends me to distribute are being viewed in over 40 states
and more than 60 foreign countries. Is there someone you could share them with?
I don’t gain anything from more viewers other than the satisfaction of knowing
that more people are engaged with His messages. Thank you.

About Don Woodruff

Retired from FedEx and dedicated to sharing God's Word with others. I send out devotionals weekly and have written two books: "The Crucifixion Catalyst / Unspoken Messages From God To Believers" (published and available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble **out of print**) and "I'm Saved Now What?" (unpublished). I am currently working on a third one that will be a Daily Devotional. The devotionals on my Blog have been viewed by people in all 50 states and over 80 foreign countries. I sincerely believe the Lord provides the content for the devotionals and in 2013 He “tasked” me with distributing them and storing them on my Blog. They are free and I will not solicit any donations. I hope you enjoy them and feel free to leave comments if one of them speaks to you personally, or if you have a suggestion.
