INDEPENDENCE, OR SURRENDER AND DEPENDENCE?

BIBLE PASSAGE:
“If any man will do His will, he shall know of the doctrine,
whether it be of God, or whether I speak of Myself.” 
(John 7:17)

MEDITATION:
There is an overriding principle taught in Scripture 
that will help us know and prove the will of God.
It is the principle of surrender.

Many of us are absolutely afraid to pray,
“Here I am. I am taking my hands off of my rights to my life including 
my desire to be married, have a family, live in a nice house, get a good 
job, etc. I give it all to You.”

We don’t come to God and say,
“Lord, show me Your will, 
then I will make up my mind whether to do it or not.”
We’ll never know God’s will that way.

ACTION:
Is there anything you would not do 
if you knew Jesus wanted you to do it?
Is there any place you would not go 
if you knew Jesus wanted you to go?

Is there anything you would not say 
if you knew Jesus wanted you to say it?
Is there anything you would not be 
if you knew Jesus wanted you to be it?

Is there anything you would not give 
if you knew Jesus wanted you to give it?
Is it time for you to rededicate yourself to God?

Surrender your rights, humble yourself, 
and give yourself completely to Him today.
God loves you so much and He has given you the capacity to love Him in return.
Show the sincerity of your love by surrendering to His Will for your life.
It is an honor and a privilege that God has chosen you to serve Him.

Pray,
“Heavenly Father, I admit that I have not totally surrendered my life 
to You. I admit that I have failed to obey all Your commands. I admit 
that I have ignored or failed to follow Your desires for my life and 
have not pursued the path You planned for me before I was born. 
Today, I want to make a new commitment to You and surrender my 
life to Your will for me. Forgive me for my failures and show me how
to make changes in my life so I will be pleasing to You.”
