REMEMBERING AND SHARING GOD’S GOODNESS

BIBLE PASSAGE:
“The Sovereign LORD has given me a well-instructed tongue, to know
the word that sustains the weary. He wakens me morning by morning,
wakens my ear to listen like one being instructed.”
(Isaiah 50:4)

MEDITATION:
Do you have difficulty remembering things?
Recently, I was walking off the 18th green on a golf course
and when I looked back, I saw a glove lying on the ground.
I thought it had fallen out of my pocket and went back to get it,
but when I reached down to pick it up, I saw my glove on my hand.

One little lady said, “My memory is what I forget with”.
Thankfully, we have the Holy Spirit who ministers to our subconscious.
He is there not only to teach us the Truth,
but also to help us recall the Truth,
and apply the Truth in every situation.

Over and over again, the Holy Spirit has done this in the lives of believers
as they are in the midst of preaching, teaching, witnessing, or counseling.
I have been teaching a Bible class at my church for around 35 years,
and countless times He brings to mind things that are not in my notes.

The Lord has given us a “well-instructed tongue”.
How great is that?
We may not have a formal education,
but we can still be a counselor to others in trouble.
Why? Because when we are saved, God lives within us.
When we walk in the Spirit, He will give us the words
to speak to someone who is weary, sad, or in need of encouragement.

But, the Spirit cannot remind us of God’s Word unless we first learn it.
We need to spend time reading the Bible
and allow His Spirit to help us meditate on the scriptures.
We need to give the Spirit the opportunity
to make Jesus real and vibrant in our lives.

ACTION:
When was the last time you shared your faith?
But as for me, it is good to be near God. I have made
the Sovereign Lord my refuge; I will tell of all your deeds.
(Psalm 73:28)
“No one lights a lamp and hides it in a clay jar or puts it under a bed.
Instead, they put it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light.”
(Luke 8:16)

Maybe today you can begin a conversation with someone
just by offering a word of encouragement.
Who knows where that spark of truth will lead?
Ask God to give you the opportunity to lead someone to Him
and be prepared to step out of your comfort zone.

Pray,
“Heavenly Father, thank You for loving me and for Your grace that
has saved me. Help me to share with others how great You are and
what You have done for me!”

About Don Woodruff

Retired from FedEx and dedicated to sharing God's Word with others. I send out devotionals weekly and have written two books: "The Crucifixion Catalyst / Unspoken Messages From God To Believers" (published and available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble **out of print**) and "I'm Saved Now What?" (unpublished). I am currently working on a third one that will be a Daily Devotional. The devotionals on my Blog have been viewed by people in all 50 states and over 80 foreign countries. I sincerely believe the Lord provides the content for the devotionals and in 2013 He “tasked” me with distributing them and storing them on my Blog. They are free and I will not solicit any donations. I hope you enjoy them and feel free to leave comments if one of them speaks to you personally, or if you have a suggestion.
