DOES THE CHRISTIAN LIFE COMMUNICATE TRUTH OR FICTION?

BIBLE PASSAGE:
They tell of the glory of Your kingdom and speak of Your might,
so that all people may know of Your mighty acts
and the glorious splendor of Your kingdom.
(Psalm 145:11-12)

MEDITATION:
There was a clergyman who had a friend who was an actor.
The actor was drawing large crowds of people,
and the clergyman was preaching to only a few in the church.

He said to his actor friend,
“Why is it that you draw great crowds, and I have basically no audience at
all? Your words are sheer fiction, and mine are unchangeable truth.”

The actor replied,
“I present my fiction as though it were truth;
you present your truth as though it were fiction.”

Too often we, as Christians, give the impression that the truth is fiction
by the way we live, and by the lack of dedication to the teachings of our Lord.

ACTION:
We have a responsibility to the Lord, and to others,
to live out our faith on a daily basis.
Does that mean we have to do some things differently?
Of course it does, but when we do,
we honor the Lord, and our life becomes a witness to the lost.
(which is what every believer should have a desire to do).

Pray,
“Heavenly Father, I pray that I will yield my life totally to You,
so that others will know about the Savior I love. I may not have
been called to be a pastor, missionary, or teacher but I know that
I can be a witness and serve You by the way I live as a Christian.”

About Don Woodruff

Retired from FedEx and dedicated to sharing God's Word with others. I send out devotionals weekly and have written two books: "The Crucifixion Catalyst / Unspoken Messages From God To Believers" (published and available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble **out of print**) and "I'm Saved Now What?" (unpublished). I am currently working on a third one that will be a Daily Devotional. The devotionals on my Blog have been viewed by people in all 50 states and over 80 foreign countries. I sincerely believe the Lord provides the content for the devotionals and in 2013 He “tasked” me with distributing them and storing them on my Blog. They are free and I will not solicit any donations. I hope you enjoy them and feel free to leave comments if one of them speaks to you personally, or if you have a suggestion.
