HOW IS THE DISTANCE BETWEEN YOU AND JESUS AFFECTING YOUR LIFE?

BIBLE PASSAGE:
But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near 
through the blood of Christ. For He Himself is our peace, who has made the
two one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility... 
(Ephesians 2:13-14)

MEDITATION:
Will there ever be peace in the world?
Not until those who are far away from God 
are brought near to Him through Jesus Christ.
Jesus is the gateway to peace for individuals and ultimately for the world.
Only Jesus can change the heart of man 
by eliminating the hostilities that build dividing walls between people, 
which prevent an atmosphere of peace from becoming a reality.

Peace is much more than a five letter word to rally around.
It is the evidence of a specific relationship with God.
It is a spiritual reality in the human heart of any human 
who has come into contact with the infinite God of the universe.

Many are striving to find peace in their own lives, but are increasing 
their frustrations because they are seeking it in all the wrong ways.
We can try many self-help instructions and other man-made suggestions, 
but until our hearts are changed by Jesus Christ, 
we will continue searching in vain for peace.

ACTION:
Are you struggling to find peace in your own life?
Rather than trusting man for a solution, believe God’s Word and yield to 
the control of the Holy Spirit, provided through the blood of Jesus Christ.
Other people may have concerns and care about you, 
but no human being will ever love you like Jesus does.

Additionally, no mortal being can provide the peace that He can, 
because He IS peace.
As long as there is sin in the world, peace from the Lord 
will not eliminate problems, but it gives you the ability 
to cope with the difficulties of life without becoming unraveled. 
Jesus has the power to destroy barriers between two people and tear down any
walls of hostility so that they can have a new and congenial relationship.

Pray,
“Heavenly Father, You know the difficulties in my life and You know 
how to help me cope with them. Help me to draw closer to Jesus so that 
I can experience the peace He can bring into my life. Forgive me for 
ignoring what is available through Jesus in my pursuit of peace as 
defined by man.”
