SCRIPTURE:
“From everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.”
(Psalm 90:2)
MEDITATION:
Have you ever thought about the collapse of time?
In other words, if we could compress time, what would we see?
From the days of the Lord Jesus Christ until about 1830,
man could not travel any faster than a horse.
In 1960, a man went into space
and traveled at a speed of 18,000 miles an hour.
Look how far we advanced in such a short time (130 years)!
However, in spite of man’s ingenuity, it seems we are making quantum leaps
in science and technology while using horse-and-buggy
moral and spiritual equipment.
Technology has no morals; and with no moral restraints
man will destroy himself ecologically, militarily, or in some other way.
Only God can give a person moral restraints and spiritual strength.
While our world is shaking and crumbling,
we need to realize that one thing will never change, and that is God.
He is the same today as He was ten million years ago,
and He will be the same ten million years from today.
We are like grasshoppers;
we appear and hop around a bit on the earth, and then we are gone.
But God is everlasting!
And, He has given everyone the opportunity of an everlasting future with Him.
ACTION:
How much thought have you given to the brevity of your life on earth.
You can stay busy chasing all kinds of goals, which is not bad in itself,
but how will those goals benefit you at the end of your time on earth.
When your lifetime expires, what then?
Have you made the choice that will ensure an everlasting future of life?
How much time are you spending today adding value to your eternal rewards?
Pray,
“Heavenly Father, just knowing that You are unchanging gives me peace in
an increasingly changing world. The more our world changes, the more I see
evidence that the world doesn’t want You, respect You, and certainly has no
desire to worship You. I never thought I would live during a time when man
would believe that You are not needed, and that he can accomplish anything
without You. As I continue to witness the moral decline in the world and the
increase of decadency, remind me that I am only here for a short time and
help me to look forward to my eternal home.”
About Don Woodruff
Retired from FedEx and dedicated to sharing God's Word with others. I send out devotionals weekly and have written two books: "The Crucifixion Catalyst / Unspoken Messages From God To Believers" (published and available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble **out of print**) and "I'm Saved Now What?" (unpublished). I am currently working on a third one that will be a Daily Devotional. The devotionals on my Blog have been viewed by people in all 50 states and over 80 foreign countries. I sincerely believe the Lord provides the content for the devotionals and in 2013 He “tasked” me with distributing them and storing them on my Blog. They are free and I will not solicit any donations. I hope you enjoy them and feel free to leave comments if one of them speaks to you personally, or if you have a suggestion.
