DEVOTIONALS

WHO DO YOU TRUST TO PROVIDE YOU WITH SECURITY AND PROTECTION?

SCRIPTURE:
I will say of the Lord,
“He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
(Psalm 91:2)

MEDITATION:
How many times have you heard (and maybe even said yourself)
that someone cannot be trusted.
We buy things that we feel cannot be trusted to be as good as they should be.
We do business with people whom we might not be able to fully trust.
We work for companies that we cannot trust to take care of us
regardless of our loyalty to them.
Wouldn’t it be nice to have just one thing or one person we can trust?

The psalmist learned that he could trust God.
Why? Because He never changes.
No outside influences or disturbance can cause God to become untrustworthy.
The psalmist also learned that God can be trusted to be a refuge for him.
A refuge is the condition
of being safe or sheltered from pursuit, danger or trouble.
The psalmist knew God could be trusted to be his fortress.
A fortress is a heavily protected and impenetrable building or force.

Modern psychiatrists say that one of the basic needs of man is security.
The psalmist found the safest and securest place that could ever be found.
Take some time and read the Psalm 91 in its entirety.
When you do,
you will discover that in God you have a permanent abode and residence.

You will find that all of the comfort, security,
and affection craved by the human heart can be found in Him.
You may never see any visible angels in your life,
but God’s promise of security remains real and certain.
Those who live in the realm of God have genuine safety and security.
Like the psalmist,
you just need to trust that God is real and that He will protect you.

ACTION:
Are you feeling vulnerable?
Take your insecurities to the Lord and ask Him to strengthen and protect you.
Then, develop trust that He will be your refuge and fortress.

Pray,
“Heavenly Father, thank You for being able to protect me at all times. Help
me to have trust that You and Your angels will be with me wherever I go and
in whatever circumstances I am in. Thank You for the peace, love and security
You promise. When I am troubled, feeling insecure, having anxieties, worrying,
or just plain scared, remind me of Your presence.”

About Don Woodruff

Retired from FedEx and dedicated to sharing God's Word with others. I send out devotionals weekly and have written two books: "The Crucifixion Catalyst / Unspoken Messages From God To Believers" (published and available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble **out of print**) and "I'm Saved Now What?" (unpublished). I am currently working on a third one that will be a Daily Devotional. The devotionals on my Blog have been viewed by people in all 50 states and over 80 foreign countries. I sincerely believe the Lord provides the content for the devotionals and in 2013 He “tasked” me with distributing them and storing them on my Blog. They are free and I will not solicit any donations. I hope you enjoy them and feel free to leave comments if one of them speaks to you personally, or if you have a suggestion.
