DEVOTIONALS

WHAT BENEFITS DO YOU RECEIVE FROM THE ONE YOU ARE FOLLOWING?

SCRIPTURE:
You know the message God sent to the people of Israel,
telling the good news of peace through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all.
(Acts 10:36)

MEDITATION:
Wouldn’t it be great if there was an absolute cure
for the troubles of human nature?
Suppose we could give a shot in the arm to each person in the human race
that would fill people with love instead of hate,
and replace greed with contentment.
What if a cure could be found for the past mistakes, failures,
and sins of mankind.

Suppose by some miracle all the past could be straightened out,
all of life’s tangles could be unraveled,
and the broken strings of life could be repaired.
There is thrilling news to all the world that there is a cure!
A medicine has been provided!

The sin, confusion, and disillusionment of life
can be replaced by righteousness, joy, contentment, and happiness.
A peace can be infused into the soul
that is not dependent on feelings or circumstances.

It is not something that ‘just happens’ though.
It requires a conscious decision by each individual.
We have to decide to stop following the world and make a complete
one hundred and eighty degrees turnaround and start following the Lord.

The question is, “Why wouldn’t everyone make that decision?”
There are possibly two reasons:
Nobody has told them about the benefits of following the Lord,
or they have been duped by Satan into believing they will sacrifice
everything and stop enjoying life if they surrender to the Lord.

How ridiculous is the last possibility?
God’s Word promises peace to those who belong to Him!
How could anyone stop enjoying living when they have peace in their hearts?
The truth is, those who follow the Lord stop dying and start really living.
Surrendering to the Lord opens the door to all of His blessings!

ACTION:
Have you completely surrendered to the Lord, or are you trying to
connect with Him while still holding on to some of the worldly things?
If you were an employer and hired someone, would you want a partial
commitment from them, or would you want them to be dedicated to your company?
God wants all of you!

Pray,
“Heavenly Father, thank You for all of Your promises in Your Word. Forgive
me if I am guilty of making only a partial commitment to You. With Your
help, I want to fully commit to You and relay Your message of love and
peace to those who suffering from the turmoil in the world. Teach me to be
an ambassador of Yours who encourages others and seizes opportunities to
point the lost to Your Son, Jesus.”

About Don Woodruff

Retired from FedEx and dedicated to sharing God's Word with others. I send out devotionals weekly and have written two books: "The Crucifixion Catalyst / Unspoken Messages From God To Believers" (published and available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble **out of print**) and "I'm Saved Now What?" (unpublished). I am currently working on a third one that will be a Daily Devotional. The devotionals on my Blog have been viewed by people in all 50 states and over 80 foreign countries. I sincerely believe the Lord provides the content for the devotionals and in 2013 He “tasked” me with distributing them and storing them on my Blog. They are free and I will not solicit any donations. I hope you enjoy them and feel free to leave comments if one of them speaks to you personally, or if you have a suggestion.
