DEVOTIONALS

HAVE YOU EVER THOUGHT, “I WISH I COULD HAVE STRENGTH AND FIND PEACE”?

SCRIPTURE:
“The LORD gives strength to his people;
the LORD blesses his people with peace.”
(Psalm 29:11)

MEDITATION:
Peace is a valuable commodity sought by everyone.
There are many things of this world that disrupt our moments of peace.
It could be a situation at work.
It could be turmoil in the home.
It could be something that someone says to you, or about you.

It could be something that someone does to you, or to someone you love.
It could be the loss of a job.
It could be financial burdens.
It could be a health issue.
It could be the constant attacks from Satan.

At any rate, when we read the scripture above,
apparently we need strength in order to achieve peace.
There is one source we can go to for both strength and peace – the Lord!
But think about it for a moment,
doesn’t it just make sense that we should start by being at peace with God?

How do we do that?
We stop fighting Him and surrender to Him.
When we fully surrender,
it means we have agreed to serve Him in whatever way He wants to use us.
It means we want to point others to His Son, Jesus.

It is difficult to surrender and have faith and trust in someone
without loving them first, wouldn’t you agree?
So that means the first step is to love God.
God gives strength and peace (that can be found nowhere else),
to those who love Him and have agreed to willingly serve Him.

The strength and peace He provides is not something
that someone can describe unless they have experienced it.
There are many folks who can attest
that they receive strength and peace from God for all situations.

They will readily tell anyone
that God’s strength and peace are adequate for every day.
Does that mean they no longer have problems?
No, they still have challenges, but they have found that they can
cope with them easier because God has given them what they need.

ACTION:
Are you still fighting the Lord?
Do you “dig in your heels” and refuse to surrender to Him?
If He wants you to serve Him, would you?
Do you love the Lord, more than anyone or anything else?

Pray,
“Heavenly Father, You know the world of turmoil I live in. You also know
how much desire I have for strength and peace. Help me to love You above
all else so that I can begin receiving the strength and peace that You
provide. Show me the changes I need to make in order to surrender to You
and have a willingness to serve You. You have given me so much already,
and I cherish the thought of receiving a new strength and peace, which
does not depend on feelings or circumstances. Thank You, Jesus, for showing
Your love for me when You went to the cross for my sins.”

About Don Woodruff

Retired from FedEx and dedicated to sharing God's Word with others. I send out devotionals weekly and have written two books: "The Crucifixion Catalyst / Unspoken Messages From God To Believers" (published and available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble **out of print**) and "I'm Saved Now What?" (unpublished). I am currently working on a third one that will be a Daily Devotional. The devotionals on my Blog have been viewed by people in all 50 states and over 80 foreign countries. I sincerely believe the Lord provides the content for the devotionals and in 2013 He “tasked” me with distributing them and storing them on my Blog. They are free and I will not solicit any donations. I hope you enjoy them and feel free to leave comments if one of them speaks to you personally, or if you have a suggestion.
