DEVOTIONALS

HAVE YOU ALLOWED THE LORD TO TAKE YOU WHERE HE WANTS YOU TO BE?

SCRIPTURE:
“On the same day, when evening had come, He said to them, 'Let us cross over
to the other side.' Now when they had left the multitude, they took Him
along in the boat as He was. And other little boats were also with Him. And
a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was
already filling.”
(Mark 4:35-37)

MEDITATION:
If Jesus asked you to go somewhere with Him, would you go?
The disciples were committed to Him
to the extent that they trusted Him at all times.
They knew that even when they didn’t fully understand His purpose,
He had a plan.
As a result of their obedience,
they were able to experience some amazing things.

Jesus has a plan for us that takes place in minute detail every day.
When we stay focused on Him and put our faith and trust in Him,
He will accomplish His plans in our lives.
Satan’s goal is to sidetrack us from this plan and steal our destiny in God.

When Jesus said to the disciples,
“Let us cross over to the other side”, He had a specific plan in mind.
On the other side was a man who had been tormented
and left as a hopeless case.

But, Jesus had another plan – to set him free
and to allow him to experience His life-changing power.
God’s plan for us is that we would experience and know His life-changing
power not only in our lives, but in the lives of the people
that we come in contact with.

Even though a storm arose as Jesus and the disciples
were in the process of crossing to the other side, His plan never changed.
When Jesus speaks a thing into our hearts, it does not matter what the world
says, or what Satan would do to sidetrack God’s plan for our lives, because
His plans can only be sidetracked when we take our eyes off of Jesus.

Jesus speaks to us and is able to take us from where we are
to where He has planned for us to go.
Our confidence and trust must be steadfast and unmovable in Him.
The things that Satan would try to sidetrack us with
are futile when we stay focused on Jesus.
No matter what storm is brewing, His promises to us have not been forgotten,
nor has His destiny for us been lost.

ACTION:
You may be like the disciples,
feeling hopeless and in despair for the things going on around you.
Take authority over circumstances in the name of Jesus
and make a fresh and new commitment to Him.
It is in that commitment to Him and yielding to Him that He will
truly fulfill His destiny in you and take you to the other side,
the place where He has called you to be.

Pray,
“Heavenly Father, by my faith in You I will rise above my circumstances.
The hindering forces that have come against me will be broken by Your
power. I am more than a conqueror in You. Forgive me for failing to fully
trust You as I should. I know that my lack of commitment has prevented me
from enjoying the places where You want to take me. Take my eyes off the
world, and help me to look to You for guidance, as You take me to where
You want me to go as part of Your plan.”

About Don Woodruff

Retired from FedEx and dedicated to sharing God's Word with others. I send out devotionals weekly and have written two books: "The Crucifixion Catalyst / Unspoken Messages From God To Believers" (published and available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble **out of print**) and "I'm Saved Now What?" (unpublished). I am currently working on a third one that will be a Daily Devotional. The devotionals on my Blog have been viewed by people in all 50 states and over 80 foreign countries. I sincerely believe the Lord provides the content for the devotionals and in 2013 He “tasked” me with distributing them and storing them on my Blog. They are free and I will not solicit any donations. I hope you enjoy them and feel free to leave comments if one of them speaks to you personally, or if you have a suggestion.
