SCRIPTURE:
For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities – His eternal
power and divine nature – have been clearly seen, being understood from
what has been made, so that men are without excuse.
(Romans 1:20)
MEDITATION:
Throughout history, many have tried to prove that God does not exist.
Why would they do that?
My guess is that they either cannot comprehend His existence,
or they do not like His expectations of His creations.
Rather than try to obedient to the Creator, some would rather claim
that He does not exist, so there is no need for obedience.
If we try to rationalize God exhaustively, we will fail.
There are mysteries about God that we will never understand in this life.
How can we, as small and finite beings, with limited time and space,
understand an infinite God!
We should not think it is strange when we find it impossible
to explain many of the mysteries of God’s handiwork.
Who can explain why objects are always attracted to the center of the earth?
Who can fathom the law of gravity?
Newton discovered it, but he could not explain it.
Who can explain the miracle of reproduction?
It is easy to see that many evidences and many arguments
could be shown as evidence that God must exist.
The scriptures tell us that although He is invisible to the human eye,
the evidences of His existence can be clearly seen.
Yet the plain truth is this: God cannot be proved through rationalization.
He cannot be contained in a tiny man-made test tube,
or confined to an algebraic formula.
If God could be fully proved by the human mind,
then He is no greater than the mind that proves His existence.
ACTION:
What are your thoughts about the existence of God?
If you believe there is a God, how has your life been impacted?
If others were to assess your words and actions,
would they say that you believe there is a God?
Pray,
“Heavenly Father, although my desire is to see You, the evidence of Your
existence is all around me. Even though my finite mind cannot comprehend
the magnitude of Your greatness, I have felt Your presence in the quietness
of my heart. Your Holy Spirit has Shown Himself to me by comforting and
encouraging me in times of grief and hopelessness. Help me to show others
through my words and actions that I believe in You and Your Son, Jesus
Christ.”
About Don Woodruff
Retired from FedEx and dedicated to sharing God's Word with others. I send out devotionals weekly and have written two books: "The Crucifixion Catalyst / Unspoken Messages From God To Believers" (published and available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble **out of print**) and "I'm Saved Now What?" (unpublished). I am currently working on a third one that will be a Daily Devotional. The devotionals on my Blog have been viewed by people in all 50 states and over 120 foreign countries. I sincerely believe the Lord provides the content for the devotionals and in 2013 He “tasked” me with distributing them and storing them on my Blog. They are free and I will not solicit any donations. I hope you enjoy them and feel free to leave comments if one of them speaks to you personally, or if you have a suggestion.
