SCRIPTURE:
“and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from
the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him who loves
us and has freed us from our sins by His blood”
(Revelation 1:5)
MEDITATION:
Blood is mentioned 392 times in the Bible (according to Biblegateway.com).
Several times in the New Testament Jesus spoke of His own blood.
Why?
Because through the shedding of His blood, He made our salvation possible.
He paid the penalty for our sin and redeemed us.
The penalty for our sin and rebellion is death;
but Jesus stepped up and said, “I’ll take that death”.
He voluntarily laid down His life and took the penalty we deserve.
That’s what the cross is all about.
The blood of Jesus Christ not only redeems us,
it justifies (validates) us as clean.
Being justified means more than being forgiven.
I can say, “I forgive you”, but I can’t justify you.
God not only forgives the past, He clothes you in righteousness
as though you had never committed a sin.
But it cost the blood of His Son on the cross.
ACTION:
How amazing is it to know that even when you didn’t know Jesus,
He knew you and died so that you could be saved?
You might sacrifice your life to save a family member,
or maybe even a close friend, but would you die for a total stranger?
To make it even more difficult, would you die for someone
who was against you and did not want anything to do with you?
Jesus did that for you while you were a sinner.
Pray,
“Heavenly Father, now I understand the magnitude of what Your Son,
Jesus did for me. It amazes me that He would do that for me and all
other sinners of the world. Thank You Jesus, for going to the cross for
me so that I would have the opportunity to receive salvation. Thank
You God for covering my sins with the blood of Jesus and saving me.
Jesus, Your blood has cleansed my sin and made me worthy of forgiveness.
I look forward to spending eternity with You. Help me to live a life now
that shows others my faith in You is real, and points them to You.”

Retired from FedEx and dedicated to sharing God's Word with others. I send out devotionals weekly and have written two books: "The Crucifixion Catalyst / Unspoken Messages From God To Believers" (published and available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble **out of print**) and "I'm Saved Now What?" (unpublished). I am currently working on a third one that will be a Daily Devotional. The devotionals on my Blog have been viewed by people in all 50 states and over 80 foreign countries. I sincerely believe the Lord provides the content for the devotionals and in 2013 He “tasked” me with distributing them and storing them on my Blog. They are free and I will not solicit any donations. I hope you enjoy them and feel free to leave comments if one of them speaks to you personally, or if you have a suggestion.
