SCRIPTURE:
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
(Hebrews 13:8)
MEDITATION:
Do you ever reflect back to the days when you were a child?
If you do, it triggers many special memories about growing up, doesn’t it?
As you grew older, you thought about how neat it would be
to watch your children enjoy some of the same things you did.
Things like riding a bike over to a friend’s house to play.
Or playing hide and seek after dark.
I can remember meeting friends at a ball field to play ball for hours.
Fishing was a fun activity as well, especially when we were allowed
to ride our bikes to the pond or lake, while carrying our fishing gear.
But the world has changed, hasn’t it?
In the world today, there are too many dangers that prevent us
from allowing our children to enjoy some of the same activities that we did.
Wouldn’t it be nice to live in a world where pleasant things never change?
Fortunately there is someone who never changes - Jesus Christ.
In the restless sea of world turmoil, Jesus stands steadfast and calm.
He is always ready to welcome all who will turn to Him
and accept the blessings of safety and peace that He can provide.
The Bible says, “It is appointed unto men once to die”
and to the average person this can seem like a stark and hopeless situation.
Hundreds of philosophies and scores of religions
have been invented to circumvent the Word of God.
Modern philosophers and psychologists are still trying
to make it appear that there is some way out other than the path of Jesus.
But people have tried them all, and none of them leads anywhere but down.
Christ came to give us the answers
to the three never-changing problems of sin, sorrow, and death.
It is Jesus Christ, and He alone,
who is enduring and unchanging, “the same yesterday, today, and forever”.
All other things may change, but Christ remains unchangeable.
ACTION:
Aren’t you glad that we worship a Lord and Savior who never changes?
If He was changeable, then where would we find stability?
If He was not the same, then which Christ would we worship?
Would we choose to worship Him only until He changed?
That would not give us the foundation we need
and it would not be the type of Lord we would want to worship.
Pray,
“Heavenly Father, I am thankful that You and Your Son, Jesus Christ
never change. You both provide me with the stability that allows me
to find peace and joy in worshipping You. I pray that You will help me,
as a follower of Jesus Christ, to mimic His characteristics and qualities,
including a desire to be unchanging about the things that represent my
faith. I cannot do that on my own, so I appeal to You to guide me in all
my ways. My trust, faith, and confidence are in You as an unchanging
Father and Son. Thank You for Your unchanging love.”
About Don Woodruff
Retired from FedEx and dedicated to sharing God's Word with others. I send out devotionals weekly and have written two books: "The Crucifixion Catalyst / Unspoken Messages From God To Believers" (published and available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble **out of print**) and "I'm Saved Now What?" (unpublished). I am currently working on a third one that will be a Daily Devotional. The devotionals on my Blog have been viewed by people in all 50 states and over 80 foreign countries. I sincerely believe the Lord provides the content for the devotionals and in 2013 He “tasked” me with distributing them and storing them on my Blog. They are free and I will not solicit any donations. I hope you enjoy them and feel free to leave comments if one of them speaks to you personally, or if you have a suggestion.
Amen! The Lord is my solid rock when all else is unsteady and inconsistent. He is the only thing that truly remains stable.

Posted by Don Woodruff | February 13, 2017, 9:13 amI just finished reading your testimony. Thank you for taking the time to share it with others. I am confident that many have gone through the same process, are going through the same process, or will go through the same process. I pray that many will be directed to your testimony, that “keeps it real”. With your permission, I would like to distribute your testimony to the many who are following my daily devotionals. If just one person is impacted by reading it, the time spent will be worth it.
Thanks again for ‘keeping it real’.
