DEVOTIONALS

WHAT SHOULD YOU DO IN A WORLD THAT IS CRUMBLING AROUND YOU?

SCRIPTURE:
“I am,” said Jesus.  “And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the
right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven.”
(Mark 14:62)

MEDITATION:
If you took a poll, most people would say we live in a pessimistic world.
Many are going around wringing their hands
wondering how to solve the current world situations.
Crime continues to rise
and terrorists are a greater threat to more countries than ever before.

Corruption is widespread in our governments
and it is difficult to find politicians with upstanding moral fiber.
Even when politicians are elected who can be trusted and respected,
the worldly leaning media, attacks them in various and untruthful ways.

Why? Because they do not want anyone to disrupt their worldly standards.
Those of the world have no place for Godly principles.
It is no surprise that the world is in a downward spiral toward
the things that oppose what God wants to prevail in the world He created.

So, in the midst of all of this, what are believers to do?
The scriptures tells us that in the midst of persecution, confusion, wars,
rumors of wars, and a society that is bent on eliminating God,
we should comfort each other with the knowledge and reminder
that our Lord Jesus Christ is coming back in triumph, glory and majesty.

He has told us that as Christians,
we should be watching constantly and to be ready.
“So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man
will come at an hour when you do not expect him.” (Matthew 24:44)
Do you think Christ will come today?
If you say, “Probably not”, it is on just such a day that He may come.

What a glorious time of reunion it’s going to be,
when we will be caught up with Him!
Wrong will be changed to right; sadness will be changed to joy;
hurt will be changed to lifting up; illness will be changed to perfect health;
death will be replaced with life.

ACTION:
Are you looking forward to the grand and glorious day when Jesus Christ returns?
Don’t allow Satan to steal this joy from you by what he is doing in the world.
God has promised joy and peace to those who are His.
The peace and joy He promised is not dependent on the changes in this world, but
rather the Word of our omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent Heavenly Father.
Whatever He promises, we can depend on!

Pray,
“Heavenly Father, thank You for the promise of the return of Your Son,
Jesus Christ! Forgive me if I have allowed the things of the world to detract
from Your promises, and to cause me to miss out on the peace and joy that
only You can bring. As sad it is to visualize Jesus hanging on a cross in pain
and agony, it is exciting to imagine what it will be like when we see Him
returning victoriously to take all believers home to live with You and Him
eternally. Help me to live each day as though Jesus may return that day.
Thank You, Jesus, for the hope that no matter what is going on around me,
I can look forward to the joy of seeing You face to face!”

About Don Woodruff

Retired from FedEx and dedicated to sharing God's Word with others. I send out devotionals weekly and have written two books: "The Crucifixion Catalyst / Unspoken Messages From God To Believers" (published and available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble **out of print**) and "I'm Saved Now What?" (unpublished). I am currently working on a third one that will be a Daily Devotional. The devotionals on my Blog have been viewed by people in all 50 states and over 80 foreign countries. I sincerely believe the Lord provides the content for the devotionals and in 2013 He “tasked” me with distributing them and storing them on my Blog. They are free and I will not solicit any donations. I hope you enjoy them and feel free to leave comments if one of them speaks to you personally, or if you have a suggestion.
