WHAT DO I HAVE TO LOOK FORWARD TO AT THE END OF MY EARTHLY JOURNEY?

BIBLE PASSAGE:
“Behold, I will create new heavens and a new earth. The former
things will not be remembered, nor will they come to mind.”
(Isaiah 65:17)

MEDITATION:
We know what living on earth is like don’t we?
We have seen and maybe experienced:
    struggles and disappointments;
    illnesses, pains and deaths;
    injustices, unfairness, and lack of concern for others;
    conniving, fraud, dishonesty, deception and lying;
    sadness and heartbreaks;
    evilness and decadent lifestyles;
    robberies and murders;
    open acts of blasphemy and defiant sinfulness that oppose God’s laws.

Yes, we have seen a lot while living on this earth and some of them
were good things. However, with all the bad we have seen, it’s no
surprise that many have a desire to live in a new world; a world
where there is less trauma and heartache. God has promised a
new world for those who believe in Him and His Son.

What is the attraction of Heaven? How will it be different from our
experiences on earth? For starters, Heaven will be called our home;
our permanent home that we will never leave; a home that we will
never want to leave. We are promised that all of God’s people will
remain in Heaven forever.

Heaven will be a happy place devoid of all the things that hurt and
disappoint us during our earthly journey. There will be nothing in
Heaven to cause any sadness, pain or illness. In addition, it will be
a happy place because Jesus will be there. With constant goodness
in Heaven, we will discover a beauty that we could never imagine
with our finite minds.

Heaven will be beautiful because our Creator is the God of beauty,
and He will be there. It will be an exciting place as we are reunited
with many of our friends and family who were also believers in the
Lord.

We don’t know everything about Heaven, but we know it will be an
unimaginable utopian paradise. Heaven is where our happiness will
not be threatened by memories of the bad things we experienced on
earth.

ACTION:
Question to consider:
    – Am I excited about going to a new home prepared by God?

If you are a believer, then you should expect a new home as your
destiny. When ‘things’ on this earth become overwhelming, as
much as we can, we need to focus on the beauty and bliss of our
Heavenly home.

If you are not a follower of Jesus, then you have only experienced
a sample of the eternal misery awaiting you at the end of your
earthly journey. Hell is the epitome of physical, mental and
emotional misery. It’s a place that’s far worse than the world
we are living in today. Don’t miss out on this fantastic promise
God has given to those who are part of His family!

Pray,
“Heavenly Father, thank You for Your promise of a better home for
those who belong to You. I can’t imagine how great it will be, but I
know it is a place where I want to be, because You are there. I rejoice
when I think of the promise of an eternal home with You, and the
reunion with my loved ones. Teach me to start living now as I will
live in my Heavenly home. Help me to show love to others and to
encourage them often. Forgive me for the things I have done that
caused problems, disappointments and heartbreaks for others, 
and for me. Develop in me a love for others like You have for me.”
