SCRIPTURE:
To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven.
Ecclesiastes 3:1
MEDITATION:
In God’s perfect design for our lives, He has
planned for times of fruitfulness and activity.
For our benefit, He will also build in times of quiet and rest.
There will be times when He asks us
to remain faithful doing the same work day after day.
But there will also be periods of excitement and new beginnings.
There are seasons when God wants us to some specific things for His glory.
By God’s grace, we will enjoy seasons of harvesting the fruit of our faithfulness.
Through His grace, we will also overcome the cold winters of heartache and grief.
Without winter, we may not fully appreciate the springs.
Just as it is with the seasons of nature, we have seasons
that work together to bring about God’s perfect will for each one of us.
We experience seasons because God has a purpose.
We can be assured of this – if God can cause the timing of the seasons of nature,
then certainly we can trust Him to be in charge of the seasons of our lives.
In fact, we should find comfort in knowing that God is in control.
When we are going through a winter season of problems,
we know that God will provide us a spring season of renewal and restoration.
ACTION:
You might be going through a difficult season right now, but don’t lose hope,
God knows the season you are in
and has already prepared a brighter and sunnier season for you.
If your current season seems uncomfortable,
take heart because God may be involving you in His earthly ministry.
You may feel uneasy doing what He wants you to do for Him,
but have faith that you will benefit from whatever you do for the Lord.
Pray,
“Heavenly Father, I am thankful that you control the seasons of nature
and that You are in charge of the seasons of my life. When I am down,
help me to remember that You are preparing brighter days for me. When
I am confused and uncomfortable where You lead me, remind me that
when You are involving me in Your work, You are there with me, You
will be glorified, and I will benefit by being a part of Your ministry. I
pray that you will help me to enjoy all the seasons You give to me.”
About Don Woodruff
Retired from FedEx and dedicated to sharing God's Word with others. I send out devotionals weekly and have written two books: "The Crucifixion Catalyst / Unspoken Messages From God To Believers" (published and available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble **out of print**) and "I'm Saved Now What?" (unpublished). I am currently working on a third one that will be a Daily Devotional. The devotionals on my Blog have been viewed by people in all 50 states and over 80 foreign countries. I sincerely believe the Lord provides the content for the devotionals and in 2013 He “tasked” me with distributing them and storing them on my Blog. They are free and I will not solicit any donations. I hope you enjoy them and feel free to leave comments if one of them speaks to you personally, or if you have a suggestion.
