DEVOTIONALS

WHEN YOU HAVE QUESTIONS, WHERE DO YOU GO FOR ANSWERS?

SCRIPTURE:
The eyes of the Lord your God are always on the land,
from the beginning of the year to the very end of the year.
(Deuteronomy 11:12)

MEDITATION:
Have you ever heard someone make the comment,
“Where was (or is) God in all of this?”
Whenever we don’t fully understand something, we ask questions.
However, when we question God’s presence it could be an indication
that we do not have the relationship He wants us to have with Him,
or that we have had a momentary break in our fellowship with Him.

Even those in close fellowship with the Lord
have questions at times about things that happen.
The loss of a loved one, the injustices that we see, the financial burden we
are struggling with, an incurable sickness, the loss of a job, a wayward child
or relative, depression, worry, etc.
We could list many more instances, but the glaring question some have in these
examples is, “If God is there and He cares, then why have these things happened?”

We can discuss our questions with others, but our best channel for answering these
types of questions is to go to the book God has graciously given us – the Bible.
We cannot understand more about God
by merely laying His Word on a table to collect dust.
He gave us His Word because He loves us, He understands us,
and He wants us to reciprocate.

Why would He create us other than to love, fellowship with, and worship Him?
If we could get our mind around it, He loves us
with an even greater love than we have for our own children.

Many believers have moments of sadness, disappointment and even anger about
some things that happen which they do not understand and cannot logically explain.
However, God understands those emotions and doesn’t desert us.
Consequently, we should never separate ourselves from Him
due to a lack of understanding of His ways.

We know that we can never go back in time.
We can recall the past, but we cannot retrace any of the steps we have taken.
However, we can chart our paths for the future and trust that God
has not, and will not desert those who are called by His name.
He is constantly observing us and the world we live in.

We should never remain chained to our old regretful memories,
but we should move ahead focused on God.
Just as the Lord watched over the land and His people during the times of Moses,
His eyes will also be upon us!

ACTION:
How is your relationship with the Lord?
If you have questions, do you go to His Word to find your answers?
He loves you, understands you, wants to fellowship with you
and wants what is best for you.

Pray,
“Heavenly Father, thank You for watching over our land and for watching
over me. Thank You for Your Word which assures me of Your constant
presence. Help me to remember that Your faithful care will extend to every
moment of the rest of my life. Forgive me for the times that I question Your
decision in some things. Teach me to always read Your Word so that when my
emotions try to steer me in the wrong direction, I can remember the promises
You have given me. I pray that You will start a revival in my soul beginning today.”

About Don Woodruff

Retired from FedEx and dedicated to sharing God's Word with others. I send out devotionals weekly and have written two books: "The Crucifixion Catalyst / Unspoken Messages From God To Believers" (published and available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble **out of print**) and "I'm Saved Now What?" (unpublished). I am currently working on a third one that will be a Daily Devotional. The devotionals on my Blog have been viewed by people in all 50 states and over 80 foreign countries. I sincerely believe the Lord provides the content for the devotionals and in 2013 He “tasked” me with distributing them and storing them on my Blog. They are free and I will not solicit any donations. I hope you enjoy them and feel free to leave comments if one of them speaks to you personally, or if you have a suggestion.
