“In your anger do not sin:
Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry,”
Ephesians 4:26
God’s Word tells us to be “slow to wrath” (Proverbs 14:29, James 1:19).
“Whoever is patient has great understanding,
but one who is quick-tempered displays folly.”
“My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this:
Everyone should be quick to listen,
slow to speak and slow to become angry”
There’s nothing that will do more damage to your relationships
than unwanted, unwarranted anger.
If you are given to anger, there are some things the Bible says,
and it won’t be flattering.
First, the Bible says you are foolish.
Ecclesiastes 7:9 says,
“Do not be quickly provoked in your spirit,
for anger resides in the lap of fools.”
Second, you have a weak character.
Proverbs 16:32 says,
“He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty;
and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city.”
Uncontrolled anger is like throwing a rock into a wasp’s nest.
The Lord wants His children to maintain self-control.
Do you have a short fuse?
If so, confess it.
Don’t let Satan get a stronghold in your life.
If you get angry, ask the Lord to give you self-control.
What a good reminder, Don, especially as we are spending time around familiar family and friends.
Love the comparison of anger vs. self-control.
Merry Christmas to you and your family~
