DEVOTIONALS

DEVOTIONAL SERIES ON LOVE (part-20)

NOTHING CAN COMPARE WITH THE LOVE AND GOODNESS OF THE LORD

BIBLE PASSAGE:
But I trust in Your unfailing love; my heart rejoices
in Your salvation. I will sing the LORD’s praise, for
He has been good to me.
(Psalm 13:5-6)

MEDITATION:
We live in a world where love is often tainted by conditions. As long
as things are going well, love flows freely, but when circumstances
change, love can fade and even disappear. Thankfully, this is not the
kind of love God has for us.

His love is ‘unfailing’, which means He can be trusted to love us at all
times. The Psalmist realized the magnitude of God’s love and it caused
him to sing praises to the Lord. When he reflected on the Lord’s gift of
salvation, it made his heart rejoice because he knew how good the Lord
had been to him.

ACTION:
Have you thought about the magnitude of the Lord’s love for you?
Do you take His love for granted? Have you ever been motivated
to praise Him and sing about His blessings? When we realize the
awesomeness of His promises for those who love and obey Him,
we should feel overwhelmed with joy in our hearts. Why? Because
we know that our life on earth is not the end of our existence; we
have a hope of a new (and better) life in our future.

When we understand His promise that those who believe in His Son
and have surrendered their lives to Him will spend an eternity in His
presence, the enormity of His goodness ought to motivate us to sing
songs of praise and thankfulness.

At the same time, we need to have an awareness that Satan wants to
convince us that because God loves us, we can live a life of sin without
suffering any consequences. That’s just one example of the many lies
he tries to plant in our minds.

The Lord loves us unconditionally, provides salvation, and blesses us
in many ways. He is good to us, and He can be trusted at all times;
He deserves our praise. In a world with many challenges, including
an active Satan who tempts us to live a life that displeases the Lord,
we should welcome opportunities to focus on the benefits of having
a relationship with our Creator. And when we do, we can unlock a
more positive attitude in ourselves.

Pray,
“Heavenly Father, thank You for Your constant love for me
even when my actions disappoint You. Thank You for Your
promise of an eternity with You for those who believe in Your
Son, Jesus and have surrendered to Your will.. Thank You for
how good You have been to me and for the blessings You provide.
Forgive me if I have taken for granted Your love and goodness to
me. In my busyness, help me to pause, count my blessings, and
praise You for loving me and being available for me at all times.”

About Don Woodruff

Retired from FedEx and dedicated to sharing God's Word with others. I send out devotionals weekly and have written two books: "The Crucifixion Catalyst / Unspoken Messages From God To Believers" (published and available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble **out of print**) and "I'm Saved Now What?" (unpublished). I am currently working on a third one that will be a Daily Devotional. The devotionals on my Blog have been viewed by people in all 50 states and over 80 foreign countries. I sincerely believe the Lord provides the content for the devotionals and in 2013 He “tasked” me with distributing them and storing them on my Blog. They are free and I will not solicit any donations. I hope you enjoy them and feel free to leave comments if one of them speaks to you personally, or if you have a suggestion.
