DEVOTIONALS

HOW DO YOU FEEL? (Part-13)

DO YOU FEEL LIKE YOU ARE STUMBLING THROUGH LIFE?

BIBLE PASSAGE:
This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men
loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.
(John 3:19)

MEDITATION:
When do most of the violent crimes happen?
Although daytime crimes are increasing, as a
general rule, most of the crimes are committed
at night. Why? Because it is dark and criminals
love the dark.

Those who love the darkness and the things of darkness
are bent toward evil and have no interest in the Lord.
“The light shines in the darkness,
and the darkness has not overcome it.”
      (John 1:5)
Since things that used to happen under the cover of darkness
are happening more during the daylight today, we might be
inclined to think that the darkness IS overcoming the light.

However, the scriptures are referring to the “Light of the world”,
who is Jesus. His light is always shining and will never be overtaken
by the darkness. However many folks have chosen to refuse to allow
His light to enter into their hearts. Statistics show that Jesus is being
rejected by an overwhelming majority of people today.

Think about this…when God created the world, He said,
    “Let there be light”
God knows the value of light for all mankind. We know
the importance of light, because it is equated to Jesus.

Unfortunately, many are living in spiritual darkness, confused,
frustrated, disturbed, and fearful. They move from one crisis to
another in a state of hopelessness. People are stumbling blindly
in spiritual darkness and headed toward destruction, judgment
and hell.

In sports some say that you should never change a winning strategy,
but you should always change a losing one. This holds true for living
our lives as well, wouldn’t you agree? If we are experiencing things
associated with the darkness, then it’s time for us to choose to make
a change, isn’t it?

God can cause the light to penetrate our lives, and turn the
darkness of life into the brightness of day. However, just
as we have to flip a switch to turn on the light in our home,
we have to make a choice to allow the light of the Lord to
shine into our lives.

ACTION:
Is the light of the Lord shining in your heart and life? Is His
light waiting for you to invite it in? We shouldn’t continue
wandering around in a confusing and frustrating darkness;
instead, we should invite the light of the Lord into our heart
and life. And when we do, we will discover a new and positive
outlook.

Pray,
“Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of the light
of Your Son, Jesus. You know the dark areas that exist
in my own life. Fill those dark areas with the light of the
Lord, so that I can escape the rut of life I am in. Teach
me to allow His light to shine through me for others to see.”

About Don Woodruff

Retired from FedEx and dedicated to sharing God's Word with others. I send out devotionals weekly and have written two books: "The Crucifixion Catalyst / Unspoken Messages From God To Believers" (published and available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble **out of print**) and "I'm Saved Now What?" (unpublished). I am currently working on a third one that will be a Daily Devotional. The devotionals on my Blog have been viewed by people in all 50 states and over 80 foreign countries. I sincerely believe the Lord provides the content for the devotionals and in 2013 He “tasked” me with distributing them and storing them on my Blog. They are free and I will not solicit any donations. I hope you enjoy them and feel free to leave comments if one of them speaks to you personally, or if you have a suggestion.
