DEVOTIONALS

HOW CAN WE “TRIGGER” NEW BLESSINGS FROM THE LORD?

BIBLE PASSAGE:
When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter,
“Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?”
“Yes, Lord,” he said, “you know that I love you.”
Jesus said, “Feed my lambs.” Again Jesus said,
“Simon son of John, do you love me?”
He answered, “Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.”
Jesus said, “Take care of my sheep.”
The third time he said to him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?”
Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time,
“Do you love me?” He said, “Lord, you know all things;
you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Feed my sheep.
(John 21:15-17)

MEDITATION:
Just as He did with Peter, the Lord gives us
opportunities to ‘prove’ that we love Him.
Sometimes our opportunities might seem overwhelming,
but at other times they can be quite simple and easy.
Jesus says,
“…my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:30)

When God gave me the idea of a 20-day challenge
to spend 6 minutes a day with Him, I thought about
how this could be one of those simple and easy
opportunities to prove our love for Him.

Many have taken the challenge and the feedback I have
received thus far has been positive and very encouraging.
I have found that there are many like myself who love
the Lord and want an opportunity to prove it to Him,
and themselves.
(of course, that would never imply that anyone who
doesn’t commit to the challenge doesn’t love the Lord
and appreciate His blessings; we all have ways of showing
our love for Him and this is just another opportunity)

The response has not been limited to the United States,
but people from other parts of the world have committed
to taking this challenge as well.

ACTION:
Maybe you had planned to participate,
but “things” distracted you and you
forgot about it (it happens, doesn’t it?).
If so, it is not too late!

All of the devotionals for each day are stored on my
blog: utvolwoody.wordpress.com
and each one is clearly identified by day (Day-1, etc).

You are welcomed to ‘catch up’ and join us as we
continue with the remaining days of the challenge.
Personally, I believe that when we intentionally dedicate
an amount of time to spend with God each day (which
you may be doing already), it opens the door to new
blessings He has for us.

God has a storehouse of blessings for those who belong
to Him and sometimes we have a responsibility of
“triggering” our receipt of those blessings.
Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may
be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty,
“and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and
pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough
to store it. (Malachi 3:10)

About Don Woodruff

Retired from FedEx and dedicated to sharing God's Word with others. I send out devotionals weekly and have written two books: "The Crucifixion Catalyst / Unspoken Messages From God To Believers" (published and available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble **out of print**) and "I'm Saved Now What?" (unpublished). I am currently working on a third one that will be a Daily Devotional. The devotionals on my Blog have been viewed by people in all 50 states and over 80 foreign countries. I sincerely believe the Lord provides the content for the devotionals and in 2013 He “tasked” me with distributing them and storing them on my Blog. They are free and I will not solicit any donations. I hope you enjoy them and feel free to leave comments if one of them speaks to you personally, or if you have a suggestion.
