THE CROSS BRINGS PEACE?

BIBLE PASSAGE:
For God was pleased to have all His fullness dwell in Him,
and through Him to reconcile to Himself all things, whether
things on earth or things in heaven, by making PEACE through
His blood, shed on the cross.
(Colossians 1:19-20)

MEDITATION:
Jesus Christ on the cross provided peace – How?
At the cross, wickedness was not appeased;
at the cross, wickedness was confronted.
At the cross, sin was not overlooked;
at the cross, sin was atoned and paid for.

At the cross God’s greatest righteousness
confronted man’s greatest wickedness;
righteousness won and peace was attained
through the blood of Christ at the cross.

We may have a different perspective of the cross
as we envision the harsh treatment and death of
our Lord and Savior.

However, what happened at the cross was
a blessing to all mankind that has never
been matched, and never will be equaled.

It was at the cross where we could get a glimpse of
the magnitude of the Lord’s love for mankind,
His disdain for sin, and His victory over death.

Satan’s last attempt to destroy mankind suffered
a resounding defeat by the blood of the Lamb.
God snatched victory from Satan’s attempted jaws of defeat.

ACTION:
Satan may be winning some battles in the lives of some
people today, but because of what happened at the cross,
God and His people ultimately win the war.
Those who belong to the Lord know
that He is preparing a place for us to spend eternity,
and that trumps any efforts by Satan to discourage us.

Satan has nothing to offer after our earthly life
but an eternity of suffering for those who failed
to humble themselves, confess their sins, ask the
Lord to save them, and commit to a life of serving Him.

We can praise and worship God for His love, mercy,
grace, blessings, salvation, and overall goodness.
We cannot praise and worship Satan for any of
those qualities, because they do not exist in him.

Pray,
“Heavenly Father, thank You for the outcome of
what happened on the cross. Satan meant it for
evil and destruction, but You meant it for good
as an invitation for all to come to You and receive
life now and for eternity! Thank You, Jesus for
what you did so many years ago, so that I could
have blessings now, and hope for the future.”

About Don Woodruff

Retired from FedEx and dedicated to sharing God's Word with others. I send out devotionals weekly and have written two books: "The Crucifixion Catalyst / Unspoken Messages From God To Believers" (published and available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble **out of print**) and "I'm Saved Now What?" (unpublished). I am currently working on a third one that will be a Daily Devotional. The devotionals on my Blog have been viewed by people in all 50 states and over 80 foreign countries. I sincerely believe the Lord provides the content for the devotionals and in 2013 He “tasked” me with distributing them and storing them on my Blog. They are free and I will not solicit any donations. I hope you enjoy them and feel free to leave comments if one of them speaks to you personally, or if you have a suggestion.
