DEVOTIONALS

IN OVER YOUR HEAD?

BIBLE PASSAGE:
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace.
In this world you will have trouble. But take heart!
I have overcome the world.”
(John 16:33)

MEDITATION:
The will of God will never take you where the grace of God cannot keep you.
His power is ever-present in your life as His child.
If you could have been there in the days of His fleshly appearance,
wouldn’t you have wanted to see Him walk across the sea and calm the waves?

How awesome would it have been to see His kingly form
with the wind in His hair, putting His footsteps on the sea,
smiling at the storm with His garments billowing back.
It creates a calming visual, doesn’t it?

Before the disciples saw Him walking on the water, what was their biggest problem?
It was the water, wasn’t it?
They were fearful of its power and might drowning them in the deep.
But with His response to the storm, Jesus, in essence was reminding them that,
“What looks like something that will be over your head, is already under My feet.”

ACTION:
What are some problems that are drowning you in fear,
or in discouragement, or in sadness today?
Give them to Jesus.
Remember that whatever seems over your head, is under His feet.

Pray,
“Lord, thank You for always being there when I need You. No problem
I face is too big for You to handle. Whatever tries to discourages me is
never higher than Your feet. Thank You for taking me places I would not
have gone without Your leading, and sometimes prodding me. Your grace
makes it possible for me to have the courage to follow You, because I have
confidence in knowing that You are walking beside me. Help me to always
be a positive influence to those along the path You have chosen for me.”

About Don Woodruff

Retired from FedEx and dedicated to sharing God's Word with others. I send out devotionals weekly and have written two books: "The Crucifixion Catalyst / Unspoken Messages From God To Believers" (published and available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble **out of print**) and "I'm Saved Now What?" (unpublished). I am currently working on a third one that will be a Daily Devotional. The devotionals on my Blog have been viewed by people in all 50 states and over 80 foreign countries. I sincerely believe the Lord provides the content for the devotionals and in 2013 He “tasked” me with distributing them and storing them on my Blog. They are free and I will not solicit any donations. I hope you enjoy them and feel free to leave comments if one of them speaks to you personally, or if you have a suggestion.
