BIBLE PASSAGE:
God understands the way to it (wisdom) and he alone knows where it dwells,
for he views the ends of the earth and sees everything under the heavens.
When he established the force of the wind and measured out the waters,
when he made a decree for the rain and a path for the thunderstorm,
then he looked at wisdom and appraised it; he confirmed it and tested it.
(Job 28:23-27)
MEDITATION:
There are certain things that God does not reveal to mankind.
And that is good news for us….Why?
Because who wants to believe in a God
they can put in a box and completely understand?
Not me, and probably not anyone else.
We can take a bucket down to the ocean and dip out a bucket full of water.
Everything in that bucket is ocean, but not all the ocean is in the bucket.
And with our bucket-sized minds,
we are never going to know all there is about the ocean of God’s being.
Satan thought he was God’s equal and we know the result of that kind of thinking.
Do things happen in our lives that we don’t understand?
Sure they do, but we can be confident that God understands them.
Consequently, He knows what we need in every situation.
Rather than being disappointed or frustrated because we don’t understand
everything, we should be thankful that we worship a God who does.
If there is anything we need to know
and understand, He will reveal it to us at the proper time.
ACTION:
You may be going through a time
where you don’t understand what is going on, and why.
Never forget that we worship a God
who knows that we don’t need to understand…at least not right now.
The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things revealed
belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the
words of this law. (Deuteronomy 29:29)
Anticipating His revelations should create excitement in us.
We need to remember that although we have been given
ownership of some things, there are other things that belong to God.
We need to be grateful for the things He has given us,
and determine how we can use them best.
The scriptures tell us that those who belong to God
have been given a spiritual gift (or gifts) unique to them specifically,
because He knows us and our capabilities.
This should serve as a reminder that although we may
be different (with different spiritual gifts), no one is better than anyone else.
What are you doing with the gifts He has given you?
Pray,
“Heavenly Father, I am thankful that whenever I don’t understand
something, I can be assured that You do. Forgive me for my impatience
and my failure to wait on your timing. Rather than trying to figure out
things on my own, help me to be patient while awaiting Your revelations
to me. I want to become more appreciative of Your love for me and how
You care for me by giving me the understanding I need, when I need it.
Help me to be aware of the blessings You have given me and to use my
spiritual gifts in the way that You want them used.”
