DEVOTIONALS

WHEN YOU HAVE A CHOICE OF TWO DIRECTIONS, WHICH ONE DO YOU CHOOSE?

BIBLE PASSAGE:
For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.
(Psalm 1:6)

MEDITATION:
Do you ever experience times when you are hurting and it seems that
no cares; or even if they do, they don’t know how to console you?
It is not a good feeling and we hope it doesn’t last very long.

Of course, Satan seizes these opportunities
to plant wrong thoughts in our minds.
Thoughts like, “See, following the Lord is not making life better for you”.
It is during these times that we need to remind ourselves that
(1) Satan is a liar, and (2) the Lord watches over those who belong to Him.

Imagine what it must be like for those who do not belong to the Lord.
What ‘anchor’ can they cling to?
Believers may stay in the doldrums longer than they hope,
but they do have assurance that God cares and we are under His watch.

ACTION:
Whenever we discover something good (a new recipe, a new and easier way of
doing things, a helpful tip, etc.), we want to share with others, right?
It should be no different
regarding the goodness we discover in our relationship with the Lord.

Yet, some have a tendency to hide
and keep to themselves how He has affected their lives.
We should have a desire in our hearts to encourage others to enjoy His
goodness in the same way that we have enjoyed His presence in our lives.

Out of a heart of love,
we should want others to experience His watchful eye over them as well.
When we see others speeding down a ‘way that leads to destruction’
we have a responsibility to assure them that another, and better way exists.

Sometimes we can warn them with words,
but at other times we can show them through our lives.
God will let us know when it is appropriate to speak to others, but He
should not have to remind us of the influence our life can have on them.

Pray,
“Heavenly Father, thank You for Your assurance that You are
watching over me and You are there to help me in all situations.
Thank You for the Holy Spirit who guides me toward the
‘way of the righteous’ and away from the ’way that leads to
destruction’. Thank You for Jesus who showed us how to live
righteously. Remind me that the way I live my life as a Christian
is a major contributor to Your earthly ministry. Forgive me for
the times I have strayed from the righteous way, and encourage
me to return to it quickly.”

About Don Woodruff

Retired from FedEx and dedicated to sharing God's Word with others. I send out devotionals weekly and have written two books: "The Crucifixion Catalyst / Unspoken Messages From God To Believers" (published and available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble **out of print**) and "I'm Saved Now What?" (unpublished). I am currently working on a third one that will be a Daily Devotional. The devotionals on my Blog have been viewed by people in all 50 states and over 80 foreign countries. I sincerely believe the Lord provides the content for the devotionals and in 2013 He “tasked” me with distributing them and storing them on my Blog. They are free and I will not solicit any donations. I hope you enjoy them and feel free to leave comments if one of them speaks to you personally, or if you have a suggestion.
