DEVOTIONALS

AS BELIEVERS, WE HAVE HELP IN COPING WITH THE PROBLEMS OF LIFE!

BIBLE PASSAGE:
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
(Romans 8:37)

MEDITATION:
There are times when we experience problems in life that seem insurmountable.
Even though God gave us the power of logical reasoning,
there are some things that are just too difficult to work out in our own minds.
We can discuss them with our closest friends and get additional advice,
but the problems continue to linger.

We are living in a world with problems that are not limited
to social inequity, lack of education, or even physical hunger.
Even highly educated and well-fed people still have greeds,
hates, passions, and lusts that education did not resolve.

Sin is the basic cause of the world’s problems, and as long as it exists,
there will be unfair and illogical issues in the lives of people.
The root of sin in each of our hearts is extremely deep.
It has created scar tissue that is practically impossible to remove.

Only the fire of the Lord can burn it out and make us ‘conquerors’.
Jesus didn’t come to treat symptoms,
but to get at the very heart of man’s disease.
He has the power to remove any scar tissue
we have allowed to damage our heart, soul, and attitude.

This is precisely what Christ came to do.
He didn’t come to treat symptoms;
He came to get at the very heart of man’s disease.
Jesus conquered death and His desire is for us to conquer sin,
which leads to death for those who do to belong to Him.

ACTION:
Are you dealing with problems right now that seemingly cannot be resolved?
Are you frustrated over the fact that your problems
are transforming you into a state of negativity?
Are you just treading water and waiting for time to ‘fix’ everything?
It doesn’t have to be like that.

As believers, we have a loving Savior who has promised
that we can be, not only ‘conquerors’, but ‘more than conquerors’.
To me, that means that we can not only cope with the problems of life,
but rather than allowing them to drag us into a state of hopelessness and
depression, we can be inspired to rise above them
and allow the love of the Lord to fill our hearts and souls.
With His love flowing through our veins,
we discover that we can be encouraged through encouraging others.

Pray,
“Heavenly Father, thank You for Your promise that no matter what
obstacles I face in this life, through You I can win the struggle for
the control of my mind and attitude. Forgive me for my shallow
thinking that I can be a conqueror without You. Thank You for loving
me and for Your desire for me to enjoy life as I live closer to You.”

About Don Woodruff

Retired from FedEx and dedicated to sharing God's Word with others. I send out devotionals weekly and have written two books: "The Crucifixion Catalyst / Unspoken Messages From God To Believers" (published and available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble **out of print**) and "I'm Saved Now What?" (unpublished). I am currently working on a third one that will be a Daily Devotional. The devotionals on my Blog have been viewed by people in all 50 states and over 80 foreign countries. I sincerely believe the Lord provides the content for the devotionals and in 2013 He “tasked” me with distributing them and storing them on my Blog. They are free and I will not solicit any donations. I hope you enjoy them and feel free to leave comments if one of them speaks to you personally, or if you have a suggestion.
