DEVOTIONALS

AS CHRISTIANS, WE ARE RECIPIENTS OF GOD’S GRACE!

BIBLE PASSAGE:
But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it.
(Ephesians 4:7)

MEDITATION:
When we read about the disciples of Jesus, we discover that their
lives were not a bed of roses. When the Lord saves us, we become
His disciples as well, so we cannot expect to live a trouble-free life.

It makes sense, doesn’t it? Society is going one way and
the Christian is going in an opposite direction. That
means there will be some conflicts, because when two
groups have different interests and different priorities
a collision is inevitable.

Why did the disciples continue following Jesus and why
do Christians continue following Him today? It is because
Jesus promised to give us grace and peace in the midst of
our difficulties and problems. We can be sure that when
we have troubles, our Great Shepherd will provide us with
‘still waters’.

Many people are trying all kinds of things to steady themselves,
without ever realizing that they can find the greatest anxiety relief
of all in Jesus. In the scriptures, whenever people met Jesus they
went on their way rejoicing. That shows us what the magnitude of
what He has to offer those who have developed a relationship with
Him (those who have committed their lives to following Jesus).

ACTION:
If you are a follower of Christ, have you received His grace?
What exactly is grace from the Lord? In the New Testament
grace means:
God’s love in action towards men who deserve the opposite of love.

Grace means God moving heaven and earth to save sinners
who could not do anything to save themselves. Grace means
God sending His only Son to descend into hell on the cross,
so that we (as guilty people) might be reconciled to God, and
be received into heaven.

Grace is one of the greatest gifts God has given us. As a result
of His grace, we have hope and we can look forward to a blissful
eternal life after we leave this world. Our responsibility is to
recognize and receive His grace….and to commit our lives to
following His Son, Jesus.

Pray,
“Heavenly Father, thank You for Your unmerited grace to me.
Thank You for the peace You provide for me in the midst of
the storms of life. As I face the many trials of life, I need Your
calmness and strength. By faith I reach out to You, and receive
the gift of Your peace in my life.”

Listed below are the lyrics to the first verse of a song
I recently wrote (with the Lord’s help, of course). It is a
prayer that recognizes and appreciates the power of
God’s grace to help us meet the challenges we face in life.
    I’m so tired and weak,
    Lord I need Your strength,
    Help me find a way,
To make it through this day,
    I’m just not strong,
    All on my own,
Lord, I need You here with me,
    To carry on.

About Don Woodruff

Retired from FedEx and dedicated to sharing God's Word with others. I send out devotionals weekly and have written two books: "The Crucifixion Catalyst / Unspoken Messages From God To Believers" (published and available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble **out of print**) and "I'm Saved Now What?" (unpublished). I am currently working on a third one that will be a Daily Devotional. The devotionals on my Blog have been viewed by people in all 50 states and over 80 foreign countries. I sincerely believe the Lord provides the content for the devotionals and in 2013 He “tasked” me with distributing them and storing them on my Blog. They are free and I will not solicit any donations. I hope you enjoy them and feel free to leave comments if one of them speaks to you personally, or if you have a suggestion.
