DEVOTIONALS

WHEN WE SEEK THE THINGS OF THE LORD, HE WILL PROVIDE THEM

BIBLE PASSAGE:
He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega,
the Beginning and the End. To him who is thirsty I will give
to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life.”
(Revelation 21:6)

MEDITATION:
God says that only those who hunger
and thirst for righteousness will receive it.
He doesn’t force His manna on anyone.
However, we can receive it “without cost”.
It has already been paid for by His Son, Jesus.

We must have a desire for it above everything else.
It must be like a gnawing hunger and a burning thirst.
And when it is absent, we should remain hungry and thirsty for it.
The best athletes don’t rely on their natural talent
but continue to working to hone their skills in order to improve.

Successful people in all areas of life know that in order to be
successful, they have to apply the things they know and to keep learning.
If they don’t they will not maintain status quo,
but their skills will begin to deteriorate.
In the world of righteousness, we call it “backsliding”.

ACTION:
Do you hunger and thirst for righteousness?
Are you treading water, trying your best to maintain a position of status quo?
Seeking righteousness demands much more than that of us.
We will not find what we are not seeking.

Pray,
“Heavenly Father, thank You for how You bless me in so many ways.
Without Your spiritual food, my soul is parched and I remain hungry
and thirsty. Help me to overcome the things that get in the way of my
desire to remain close to You. Increase my hunger and thirst for Your
righteousness.”

About Don Woodruff

Retired from FedEx and dedicated to sharing God's Word with others. I send out devotionals weekly and have written two books: "The Crucifixion Catalyst / Unspoken Messages From God To Believers" (published and available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble **out of print**) and "I'm Saved Now What?" (unpublished). I am currently working on a third one that will be a Daily Devotional. The devotionals on my Blog have been viewed by people in all 50 states and over 80 foreign countries. I sincerely believe the Lord provides the content for the devotionals and in 2013 He “tasked” me with distributing them and storing them on my Blog. They are free and I will not solicit any donations. I hope you enjoy them and feel free to leave comments if one of them speaks to you personally, or if you have a suggestion.
