WHEN WE BELONG TO THE LORD, WE BECOME VICTORIOUS OVERCOMERS!

BIBLE PASSAGE:
“For everyone born of God overcomes the world.  
This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.” 
(1 John 5:4).

MEDITATION:
I think we can all agree that living involves many challenges.
Some are brief and manageable, but some can be devastating and discouraging.
They can be overwhelming and cause us to believe they cannot be overcome.
However, when we are “born of God” we CAN overcome.
Our faith is our path to victory!

Outside of Christ there is no victory, only temporary accomplishments. 
All that we are or ever hope to be, 
rests in the presence of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
Faith in Jesus does not give us options. 
If we are going to be faithful to Him, we will strive to obey Him. 

The foundation of our faith is believing He is the Son of God. 
Accepting Him as our Lord and Savior requires that we allow Him 
to become the Lord of our life, which leads us into a life of obedience. 
The act of accepting Jesus Christ as our Savior brings about our new birth; 
it brings us into the family of God, making us joint heirs with Jesus Christ. 

As we walk in the newness of this relationship we will begin 
to understand and sense the victory we have through Jesus Christ. 
This victory through Jesus allows us to overcome the challenges we face.
He gives the Holy Spirit to all who belong to Him 
as our confidant, guide and friend.

The Holy Spirit gives courage to the defeated, hope to the hopeless, 
and confidence to the discouraged.
He is not some myth, but a real person who cares about our welfare.
However, it is our responsibility to believe He is real 
and invite Him into our lives.

Without Him, we can flounder around in a continuous struggle with 
our daily challenges, but with Him we can enjoy a victorious life.
Anything Jesus gives us is for our good; it is our faith and obedience 
which give Him the opportunity become active in our lives.

ACTION:
Are you struggling with the issues of life? 
Has the thought of a victorious life in Christ 
been overshadowed by the challenges you face? 

In God’s Word, we are reminded who we are in Christ, 
and how He is the “extra” we need to experience victory. 
We can be overcomers of the world’s challenges, 
because Jesus overcame, and He is on our side. 

With the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives, 
we are no longer underachievers, 
because we are given a new strength and confidence 
that victory is achievable!

Pray,
“Heavenly Father, as I dedicate my life to You and surrender my life 
challenges into Your hands, I have faith that my burdens will be 
lightened and I can be victorious over the things that try to make my
life miserable and unfulfilling. Thank You for Your promise that I can
become an overcomer because I belong to You! I know that You are 
the source of my peace, strength, and victory.”
