DEVOTIONALS

THERE IS AN ABSOLUTE TRUTH WHICH OFFERS STABILITY AND HOPE FOR THE FUTURE

BIBLE PASSAGE:
“I am the way and the truth and the life.
No one comes to the Father except through me.”
(John 14:6)

MEDITATION:
In an unstable world, truth is the stabilizing factor we need.
Not just ‘any truth’, but an ‘absolute truth’ we can depend on.
A member of Mensa once told me,
“There is no such thing as absolute truth!”.
To which I replied,
“Then I can’t believe anything you say,
including what you just said about absolute truth”.

Unfortunately, there are many who want truth, but only on their
own terms. A truth that changes depending on the person, is no
truth at all; it is nothing more than ‘opinion preferences’. If
something is considered truth for one person, but not another,
then it cannot be considered as absolute truth.

With the disappointments in the structure of society and the
inconsistency they see in adults, young people have started
searching for answers on their own. They are asking questions like:
    What is truth?
    Who says so?
What is right and what is wrong?
    Is there a final authority?

The good news for mankind is:
Yes, there is an authority; a truth that
is final and can be trusted to be unwavering.
There is a steadfast moral law that has been exemplified in a real person.
We have a genuine hero who will never let us down and in whom we can
believe at all times; someone who can provide stability in our life.

His name is Jesus Christ. He was born into a world just as jumbled
and riddled with injustices as the one we live in today. However, He
changed the world by changing people.

He introduced truth (real truth) to the world for the benefit of mankind.
His truth gives us guidelines for living a stable life which includes hope
for the future, for the short term, and for eternity. It is a hope that the
world can try to provide, but it will never be able to fill anyone with the
hope found in God’s own Son.

ACTION:
Are you looking for stability now and a hope for tomorrow? Forget
your own efforts and trying what the world offers as a solution to
joy and peace. Instead, turn to and trust the One who can provide
for all your needs – Jesus Christ.

Pray,
“Heavenly Father, thank You for the truth and stability
You offer for those who believe in Your Son, and who
trust in You to fulfill their needs. I praise You for being
the Supreme Authority and providing absolute truth that
is not watered down or changed based on the opinions of
people. You give us the perfect guidelines for living with
a hope of our future. Guidelines which are unchanging
and are designed for our benefit. Thank You for Your
great love for us and for making Your truth available to
everyone before we were even born. Your truth transcends
every generation and every unstable world that mankind
faces. Create in me a greater appreciation and trust in the
truth that only You can provide.”

About Don Woodruff

Retired from FedEx and dedicated to sharing God's Word with others. I send out devotionals weekly and have written two books: "The Crucifixion Catalyst / Unspoken Messages From God To Believers" (published and available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble **out of print**) and "I'm Saved Now What?" (unpublished). I am currently working on a third one that will be a Daily Devotional. The devotionals on my Blog have been viewed by people in all 50 states and over 80 foreign countries. I sincerely believe the Lord provides the content for the devotionals and in 2013 He “tasked” me with distributing them and storing them on my Blog. They are free and I will not solicit any donations. I hope you enjoy them and feel free to leave comments if one of them speaks to you personally, or if you have a suggestion.
