BIBLE PASSAGE:
Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
(Matthew 24:35)
DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT:
Have we just been placed here on earth by some unknown creator or force
without any clue as to where we came from, why we are here,
and where we are going?
Of course the answer to this question is, “No”.
We not only have a ‘clue’, but we have authoritative source material available.
In the Bible, God has given us what we need for understanding our existence,
for realizing the brevity of life, and for knowing what we can expect
when our earthly life is over.
We are also given the path for a blissful existence in eternity.
God clearly explains His plans
and how the human race can become a part of His plans.
God loves every person and does not want to see anyone
condemned to an eternity of agony and separation from Him.
Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must
be lifted up, that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him.” For
God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever
believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not
send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world
through him. (John 3:14-17)
Think about that for a moment,
the God who created the universe loves us individually.
There are many who have attempted to dilute God’s power and redefine Him
as a mystic being who helps people feel good about themselves.
However, God is still the omnipotent (all powerful), omniscient (all knowing)
and omnipresent (present everywhere at all times) One He has always been.
And, His words have remained accurate through all the ages.
The Bible has passed through many hands and survived attacks of every kind.
It continues to exist in spite of attempts to annihilate it with fire,
or to re-identify it as fiction that can either be read for entertainment,
or laughed at with skepticism.
No other book has survived like the Bible!
Why?
Because it is God’s Word which He intended to be available to all generations.
ACTION:
Have you struggled with your faith in God and His Son, Jesus?
Remember He said that His Words, “shall not pass way”, and they haven’t!
Without the existence of God,
the Bible would not have survived for all these years
Without God, His promises would not have remained available to all generations.
God has proven His existence and consequently,
you can trust the information contained within the pages of His book.
As you know, His words mean nothing
and cannot have a positive on your life if you never read them.
Hopefully these devotionals He sends me to distribute
are encouraging you to ‘dig deeper’ into the scriptures.
When reading the Bible,
consider each verse as God speaking directly to you, because He is!
Let that resonate in your thoughts for a moment – God loves you so much
that He wants to communicate something specifically to you
Pray,
“Heavenly Father, thank You for Your assurance that Your Words have
endured throughout all generations which proves Your existence and
confirms that Your promises can be trusted. Forgive me for not spending
a reasonable amount of time reading Your words. Teach me to read them
as Your love letters to me. Help me apply the things I read to my own life
so that I will be changed into the person You want me to be. Also, help
me to realize that some of the changes You want in me will be a challenge,
but when I obey Your Will, I will be blessed.”
About Don Woodruff
Retired from FedEx and dedicated to sharing God's Word with others. I send out devotionals weekly and have written two books: "The Crucifixion Catalyst / Unspoken Messages From God To Believers" (published and available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble **out of print**) and "I'm Saved Now What?" (unpublished). I am currently working on a third one that will be a Daily Devotional. The devotionals on my Blog have been viewed by people in all 50 states and over 80 foreign countries. I sincerely believe the Lord provides the content for the devotionals and in 2013 He “tasked” me with distributing them and storing them on my Blog. They are free and I will not solicit any donations. I hope you enjoy them and feel free to leave comments if one of them speaks to you personally, or if you have a suggestion.
