THE BIBLE IS ACCURATE AND TRUE, AND GOD’S PROMISES CAN BE TRUSTED

BIBLE PASSAGE:
The seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven,
which said: “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord
and of His Christ, and He will reign for ever and ever.”
(Revelation 11:15)

MEDITATION:
Christianity is a Gospel of crisis
which proclaims unmistakably that this world’s days are numbered.
Every cemetery testifies that the Bible is true – our days on earth are numbered.
The Apostle James says that life is only a vapor
that appears for a moment and then vanishes.
Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life?
You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. (James 4:14).

The prophet Isaiah says that our life
is like the grass that withers and the flower that fades.
A voice says, “Cry out.” And I said, “What shall I cry?” “All people are
like grass, and all their faithfulness is like the flowers of the field.
The grass withers and the flowers fall, because the breath of the LORD
blows on them. Surely the people are grass. (Isaiah 40:6-7).

There is no doubt that nations also come to an end when they
have ceased to fulfill the function that God meant for them, and when they
look for ways to exclude God, His principles, and any references to Him.
America was once the ‘home of the brave and the land of the free’,
but the more God is eliminated, the more we become
‘prisoners’ to the increase of evilness.
As a result, our ‘bravery’ is exchanged for ‘fear’
of trying to live a normal life in a world that is becoming
more corrupt, depraved and immoral every day.

We see sin that was once hidden behind closed doors,
now displayed openly in public.
The moral feelings of guilt have been pushed into the shadows and
replaced by a desire to proudly show just how sinful some people can be.
Those who still hold to the principles established by God
are treated as a minority who are considered weird
and intolerant to what the world has defined as ‘main stream’.

We have seen that disrespect for human life at any level
results in a disrespect for it at all levels.
With the widespread killing of infants in the womb,
we have watched the rise in murders across our nation,
and a growing number of murderers are in their teens.

We could list many more examples
of how the elimination of God and His principles corrupts a nation,
but rather than create depression over the devastating impact, we need to
be focused on the grace of God, and His promise for those who belong to Him.
God has sent the Holy Spirit to every believer, to help them cope with
living in a world gone mad as it tries to eliminate God.

In addition, God has promised
the creation of a home for His children in His kingdom of righteousness
and justice, that is devoid of hatred, jealousy, fear, sadness, and death.
Believers can optimistically look forward
to the return of Jesus Christ and the establishment of His kingdom.

On the flip side, those who have chosen to exclude Him in pursuit of their
own desires, will face the chilling reality of His existence when He returns.
He will take home the ones who love Him, but the others will be excluded
and will face the certainty of an eternity of torment,
where they experience the truth of God’s Word.
They will realize that their life on earth
was only a drop in the sea of eternity, and their failure to know God
in their earthy life, will keep them separated from Him forever.

ACTION:
Aren’t you thankful for the promises God has made
to those who believe in Jesus Christ?
Can you just imagine
the blissfulness awaiting those who love Him and have lived for Him?

But, at the same time, don’t you have a concern for those who do not
believe in Him, and wouldn’t you like to see them ask Jesus to come into
their hearts and lives, while they still have an opportunity to do so?

Loving Christians do not want to see
even their worst enemy condemned to an eternity of torment and agony.
That is why we have been given spiritual gifts for pointing others to Christ,
and encouraging our fellow believers toward love and good deeds.

Pray,
“Heavenly Father, although I cannot fathom what living in Your kingdom
of righteousness will be like, I thank You for the promise that You will
create it as a home for me to spend an eternity with You and other
believers. Lord, I pray for those who do not know You and for those who
have not asked You to become a living part of their lives. I ask that
You would soften their hearts, that You would draw them to You, and that
You would help me to point others to Jesus through the use of the spiritual
gift You have given me. Remind me that although the world around me is in
such turmoil, Your peace lives in my heart, as I look for Your triumphant
return!”

About Don Woodruff

Retired from FedEx and dedicated to sharing God's Word with others. I send out devotionals weekly and have written two books: "The Crucifixion Catalyst / Unspoken Messages From God To Believers" (published and available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble **out of print**) and "I'm Saved Now What?" (unpublished). I am currently working on a third one that will be a Daily Devotional. The devotionals on my Blog have been viewed by people in all 50 states and over 80 foreign countries. I sincerely believe the Lord provides the content for the devotionals and in 2013 He “tasked” me with distributing them and storing them on my Blog. They are free and I will not solicit any donations. I hope you enjoy them and feel free to leave comments if one of them speaks to you personally, or if you have a suggestion.
