HOW ARE YOU HANDLING YOUR WAR THAT’S RAGING IN THE SPIRIT WORLD?

SCRIPTURE:
In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, 
with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
(Ephesians 6:16)

MEDITATION:
In every war, 
there are two important ingredients for one side to be victorious.
There needs to be a good offensive attack in order to push the enemy back.
But there also needs to be a stellar defense 
to ward off the attacks of the opponent.
It is the same for Christians in their battles with Satan.

Many jokes are made about the devil, but the truth is, he is no joke. 
There was a time when university students 
would laugh at a professor if he talked at length about Satan.
However, that is no longer the case.

Students today want to learn about the devil, 
about witchcraft, and about the occult.
Their curiosity blinds them from realizing 
they are in effect turning to Satan.

They are being fooled because, according to the scriptures, 
Satan is the father of lies.
He is the greatest liar of all times.
He is also called the great deceiver.
In order to accomplish his purpose, 
he blinds people to their need for Christ.

Obviously there are two forces at work in our world:
the forces of Christ, and the forces of the devil.
It is not a game, but a serious matter of life and death.
And we are asked to make a choice of which force we will side with.

Some say that they have not made a choice yet.
But is that really true?
If someone chooses not to choose, then they have made a choice.
By default, we are born into the forces of the evil one, 
so we have to make a conscious choice to choose Christ.

And when we choose Christ, it is a signal for the war to begin.
Our greatest weapon against Satan’s forces is our faith.
Our faith helps us to fortify our defenses 
in order to deflect the attacks from Satan.
In addition, our faith gives us the wisdom 
to call on the Lord to offensively fight our battles for us.
 
ACTION:
How are you doing in your war within the spirit world?
If you don’t feel you are in a battle, 
then more than likely you have not made a life-saving choice.

Pray,
“Heavenly Father, thank You for the blessing of faith. I know that with 
a sincere faith I can depend on You as my Defender and Confidant when 
Satan attacks. Your Word even provides me with adequate instructions of 
my responsibilities as the war rages on. Increase my faith and give me the 
wisdom I need for making the right choices while under attack. Comfort 
and encourage me so that I will not become discouraged and have feelings 
of defeat whenever the attacks from Satan intensify.”
