SCRIPTURE:
“I am,” said Jesus. “And you will see the Son of Man sitting
at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven.”
(Mark 14:62)
MEDITATION:
We live in a world of turmoil that can create discouragement and pessimism.
Where and when will we ever get relief
and start living in harmony with one another?
As Christians, we should not be caught up in wringing our hands
wondering what we should do in the face of the present world situation.
The scriptures are clear when they tell us that in the midst of persecution,
confusion, wars, rumors of war, calamity and turmoil,
we are to comfort one another with the knowledge
that our Lord Jesus Christ is coming back in triumph, glory, and majesty!
Have you ever gone to bed at night
and thought to yourself that Christ might come before you awaken?
Perhaps you have arisen from a night’s sleep, looked at the dawn
and thought to yourself, “Maybe this is the day He will come”.
As Christians,
we are told to be watching constantly and to be ready for His return.
“So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man
will come at an hour when you do not expect him.” (Matthew 24:44)
ACTION:
Do you think Christ will come today?
“Probably not”, you might say.
However, it is on just such a day that He may come.
What a glorious time of reunion it’s going to be,
when we will be caught up with Him!
Don’t miss out,
and don’t become lackadaisical in your thoughts of His returning.
Pray,
“Heavenly Father, thank You for the promise that one day Jesus will return
and will take me to my Heavenly home. I believe in His birth, sacrificial
death, resurrection, and return. Help me to look with anticipation for His
return and to not become lazy in my thoughts about His coming. Show me how
I can encourage others to believe and look forward to the triumphant return
of Jesus. Thank You, Jesus, for the hope I have that even today I might
experience the joy of seeing You face to face!”
About Don Woodruff
Retired from FedEx and dedicated to sharing God's Word with others. I send out devotionals weekly and have written two books: "The Crucifixion Catalyst / Unspoken Messages From God To Believers" (published and available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble **out of print**) and "I'm Saved Now What?" (unpublished). I am currently working on a third one that will be a Daily Devotional. The devotionals on my Blog have been viewed by people in all 50 states and over 80 foreign countries. I sincerely believe the Lord provides the content for the devotionals and in 2013 He “tasked” me with distributing them and storing them on my Blog. They are free and I will not solicit any donations. I hope you enjoy them and feel free to leave comments if one of them speaks to you personally, or if you have a suggestion.
