DEVOTIONALS

READY FOR AN EXCITING CHANGE IN YOUR LIFE?

SCRIPTURE:
I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me,
and gave himself for me.
(Galatians 2:20)

MEDITATION:
Too many people live their lives with no direction or purpose.
They may have steady jobs and are advancing
but in the total scheme of things, what they are doing
doesn’t point toward anything at the end of their earthly journey.
Of course, their sense of responsibility is admirable and to be respected,
but it is not what provides real life.

Paul was someone who was well known in his area of the world
for his persecution of Christians.
He was diligent in his efforts and felt that what he was doing
was a fulfillment of his purpose on earth.
But then, on the road to Damascus he met the Lord
and everything in his life changed.
Suddenly he had a new purpose and reason for living.

It can happen to anyone, at any time.
With a simple act of faith, we can decide to take Jesus Christ at His Word.
It doesn’t involve intellect, but God has given us minds
with the ability to reason whenever reasoning is appropriate.

However, to choose to follow Him is an act of faith.
We believe that His Word is true and make a conscious decision
to give Him control of our life…in the same manner of Paul.
Paul changed from persecuting Christians who were following Jesus,
to a life following Him and pointing others to Jesus.
How could he find joy in creating misery for others?
He couldn’t!
But, he could now find joy
in contributing to a positive change in the lives of others.

Does it work when a person comes,
repenting of his sins, to receive Christ by faith?
Ask Paul or any other believing Christian.
We don’t become perfect, but the direction of our lives changes,
we discover a new dimension to our lives,
and we develop a greater capacity for loving others.

ACTION:
Have you discovered the secret to ‘really living’?
If you feel like something is missing in your life,
that void can be filled by giving your life to Jesus Christ.
When you do, you will discover a new set of values, priorities,
and direction for your life…and you won’t be disappointed!

Pray,
“Heavenly Father, thank You for giving me an ability to reason. Teach me
to use this ability to make wise decisions, especially regarding the
important things, including my relationship with Jesus Christ. Show me how
to find a new direction and purpose for my life as I, like Paul, choose to
live by faith in You and Your Son, Jesus Christ. Fill me with Your Holy
Spirit and help me to start enjoying the good life You have made available!”

About Don Woodruff

Retired from FedEx and dedicated to sharing God's Word with others. I send out devotionals weekly and have written two books: "The Crucifixion Catalyst / Unspoken Messages From God To Believers" (published and available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble **out of print**) and "I'm Saved Now What?" (unpublished). I am currently working on a third one that will be a Daily Devotional. The devotionals on my Blog have been viewed by people in all 50 states and over 80 foreign countries. I sincerely believe the Lord provides the content for the devotionals and in 2013 He “tasked” me with distributing them and storing them on my Blog. They are free and I will not solicit any donations. I hope you enjoy them and feel free to leave comments if one of them speaks to you personally, or if you have a suggestion.
