SCRIPTURE:
“I am come that they might have life,
and that they might have it more abundantly.”
(John 10:10)
MEDITATION:
Have you ever heard someone say, “I’m just not enjoying life very much”?
Maybe you have felt that way at times yourself.
Why do others seem to be enjoying life more than you do?
First of all, we can only see what’s on the surface of another person
and never know for sure how they really feel.
Secondly, we could have something missing from our own lives.
There must be some catalyst for enjoying life, right?
Of course there is, and it comes in the form of Jesus Christ!
When we exclude Him from our lives, we exclude an inexplicable joy as well.
Do you think that God would have bothered to send His Son into the world,
if people were able to face life and eternity alone, without Him?
Christ’s coming to the world
proved that God was not happy with man’s unhappiness.
He sent Him not only that we might have eternal life,
but that we might have life here and now,
and that we might have it more abundantly.
With Him, we can experience life with a capital “L”!
Jesus’ teaching was unique and different.
He takes religion out of the theoretical category
and places it in the practical realm.
He speaks with authority!
He speaks with finality!
He speaks as one Who is all-knowing, because He is!
He does not offer the soft, empty conjecture of the philosopher,
who professes to search for truth, but readily admits he has never found it.
Instead, He speaks with the confident voice of a mathematician
who gives his answers unhesitatingly, because the proof of his answers
can be found within the formulas.
Emphatically, two plus two will always equal four!
And, unequivocally Jesus came into the world
so that we could have an abundant life!
ACTION:
Have you tried everything you can think of
to add joy and happiness to your life?
Wouldn’t it just make sense
to at least try surrendering your life to the Lord?
It will be the best decision you will ever make
for both now, and for eternity!
Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my
house. “Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not
throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that
there will not be room enough to store it.” (Malachi 3:10)
Pray,
“Heavenly Father, thank You for the promise of an abundant life. Lord, You
know the unhappiness in my life and the cause of it. Soften my heart so
that I will surrender totally to You. You have promised an abundant life
for me, so help me to give an abundance of my life and all that I have to
You. Thank You, Jesus, for making the abundant life attainable and not just
a hopeful dream. Almighty God, You have given me real life through Jesus
Christ. My soul praises You.”

I send out devotionals weekly and have written two books: "The Crucifixion Catalyst / Unspoken Messages From God To Believers" (published and available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble **out of print**) and "I'm Saved Now What?" (unpublished). I am currently working on a third one that will be a Daily Devotional. The devotionals on my Blog have been viewed by people in all 50 states and over 80 foreign countries. I sincerely believe the Lord provides the content for the devotionals and in 2013 He “tasked” me with distributing them and storing them on my Blog. They are free and I will not solicit any donations. I hope you enjoy them and feel free to leave comments if one of them speaks to you personally, or if you have a suggestion.
