BLESSINGS AND PROSPERITY ARE AVAILABLE, IF YOU QUALIFY

SCRIPTURE:
Whoever gives heed to instruction prospers,
and blessed is he who trusts in the Lord.
(Proverbs 16:20)

MEDITATION:
If someone told you that you could prosper and be blessed,
you would be interested in listening to them, right?
The truth is, there is a formula for prospering and being blessed.
Prosperity from God's perspective and not as the world defines it.

First, we need to not only listen to the instructions in God’s Word,
but give heed to them by applying them to our own lives.
Secondly, we need to trust in the Lord.
Trust means that we believe He will take care of us.
Many people have refused to obey His command to tithe.
When we willfully decide to disobey His commands, it means that we
do not have the trust in Him that we should, if we expect to be blessed.

In essence we are saying,
“God I need the money that belongs to You in order to take care of my needs”.
When we think of it in those terms, it doesn’t sound like trust, does it?
When we trust the Lord, we say, “God I will obey Your command to tithe
because I know I can trust You to take care of my needs”.

There are a lot of things in our nature that perplex us.
Many become disturbed
as they face the troubling riddle of their own existence.
They are bewildered about their attraction to sin and evil,
and their weakness in resisting them.

They quake and tremble
at the thought of their inability to cope with their own lives.
More than likely,
they will continue to live a life of confusion as long as they willfully
refuse to obey the commands of the Lord, and surrender their lives to Him.

ACTION:
Christ can give you satisfying answers to such questions as
“Who am I?” “Why was I born?” “What am I doing here?” “Where am I going?”
All of the great questions of life can be better understood
when you come by faith to Jesus Christ and receive Him as your Lord.
Surrender to God and let Him be your Pilot.
He can take away the worry from your life.

Pray,
“Heavenly Father, forgive me for failing to obey Your commands. I want to
prosper and be blessed by You and I know that I have a responsibility to
trust and obey You. How could I have ever gotten the idea that You, the God
of the universe, cannot provide for me when I give back what belongs to You?
Forgive me for the years I have been stealing from You. You have given me
an excellent opportunity to prove my love, faith and trust in You and I have
squandered it due to my own selfishness. Give me the confidence I need to
trust that You will take care of me whenever I obey You. I trust You to
control my life, and I know You will guide me down the right path which
gives me joy and peace.”

About Don Woodruff

Retired from FedEx and dedicated to sharing God's Word with others. I send out devotionals weekly and have written two books: "The Crucifixion Catalyst / Unspoken Messages From God To Believers" (published and available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble **out of print**) and "I'm Saved Now What?" (unpublished). I am currently working on a third one that will be a Daily Devotional. The devotionals on my Blog have been viewed by people in all 50 states and over 80 foreign countries. I sincerely believe the Lord provides the content for the devotionals and in 2013 He “tasked” me with distributing them and storing them on my Blog. They are free and I will not solicit any donations. I hope you enjoy them and feel free to leave comments if one of them speaks to you personally, or if you have a suggestion.
