HOW WILL THE FINAL TRUMPET CALL IMPACT YOU?

SCRIPTURE:
And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather
his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.
(Matthew 24:31)
Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. Two
women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left.
(Matthew 24:40-41)

MEDITATION:
We can find many references to the use of trumpets throughout the Scriptures.
Consequently, we have to assume the use of them is important to God.
Why is that significant to us?
Because there will be a final trumpet call when God calls His people home.

This will be a glorious day for all who belong to Him,
but what about the ones who are not His, but still belong to Satan?
This final trumpet blast will be one they dread to hear.
It will be a time when they regret
not responding to His call throughout their lives.

The scriptures tell us that some will be ‘taken’, but others will be ‘left’.
Two in the field, and two grinding at the mill – one ‘taken’, the other one ‘left’.
This is significant information
and is probably symbolic of the trumpet used during biblical times.
The trumpet was a call for everyone stop what they were doing
and come to the Temple for worship.
However, there were some who ignored this call to worship.

Imagine this, there were two working side by side bringing in the crops
or grinding at the mill when the trumpet sounded.
One dropped what he or she was doing and heeded the call,
but the other continued harvesting the crops or grinding at the mill.

The one who ignored the trumpet call wasn’t doing anything bad; he or she
just decided that something else was more important than going to God’s house.
That may be the reason some will be ‘left’ at the final trumpet call.
Those who are ‘taken’ could be those who have
heeded the call from God to meet together for worship.
However, those who are ‘left’ could be those who have
ignored God’s call to worship and filled His worship time with other things.

They may not be doing bad things, but they have given other things a higher
priority than worshipping, in response to the sound of God's call (trumpet).
They might have been working around the house, participating in recreational
activity, sleeping in, or any number of other things that are not considered
sinful, except for the fact they are taking precedence over God’s call to
worship.

Of course, church attendance will not save a person, however it is one of
the confirmations that a believer has genuinely given his life to the Lord,
and is heeding His trumpet call to obediently come to His house.
There are many other confirmations including tithing,
loving others, praying, etc.

ACTION:
How are you responding to God’s call to worship?
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good
deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing,
but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
(Hebrews 10:24-25)

Notice that His trumpet call is even greater “as we see the Day approaching”.
When the signs tell us that the return of Jesus is getting
nearer (and it is every day), then we need to “meet together” ‘even more’.
However, as the statistics have shown, “as the Day approaches”
many have decided to “meet together” less, or not at all.

Pray,
“Heavenly Father, I now see the importance of responding to Your trumpet
call to come to Your house. Forgive me for putting other things ahead of
obeying Your command to meet together. Help me to reorganize my priorities
so that meeting with other believers to worship, has top priority, and
everything else will become less important. I want to be one of the ‘taken’
ones at the final trumpet call.”

I send out devotionals weekly and have written two books: "The Crucifixion Catalyst / Unspoken Messages From God To Believers" (published and available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble **out of print**) and "I'm Saved Now What?" (unpublished). I am currently working on a third one that will be a Daily Devotional. The devotionals on my Blog have been viewed by people in all 50 states and over 80 foreign countries. I sincerely believe the Lord provides the content for the devotionals and in 2013 He “tasked” me with distributing them and storing them on my Blog. They are free and I will not solicit any donations. I hope you enjoy them and feel free to leave comments if one of them speaks to you personally, or if you have a suggestion.
