DEVOTIONALS

WANT TO START ENJOYING LIFE MORE, AND HAVE A MORE POSITIVE ATTITUDE?

SCRIPTURE:
“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching
and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs,
singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”
(Colossians 3:16)

MEDITATION:
Have you ever given thought to what happens whenever you receive God’s salvation?
You begin a metamorphosis
where your appearance, attitude, character and priorities change.
The things that concern you change; the things that make you happy change;
the things that make you sad change; your prayer life changes;
your concern for others change; you have a new capacity to love; etc.

Christians should rejoice.
To do that, we need to think of the great things God has done for us.
At the top of our list is His gift of making it possible for us to spend eternity with Him.

Christians should ‘not be anxious’,
but ‘in our prayers to make our requests known to God’.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition,
with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. (Philippians 4:6)
In our biggest problems we have One to whom we can go;
and before Him we can pour out our heart with the assurance
that He will not leave us without an answer to that great problem.

Christians should fill their minds with those things that are good.
They are mentioned in the Scriptures as being things
that are true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, of good report, and of virtue.
It is upon these things that we are to think.
We are to live positively, not negatively.

As the metamorphosis continues, we discover an ability to rejoice,
to not be anxious, to fill our mind with good things, and to think positively.
We will discover new victories that have previously been defeats in our lives.
In addition, we will develop a much rosier outlook on life.

ACTION:
Have you surrendered your life to the Lord?
If so, can you identify which stage of the metamorphosis you are in?
When you consider the results of the metamorphosis above,
doesn’t it sound like a process that you would like to see completed soon?

You cannot accelerate the process as long as you continue holding on to
attitudes, habits and character that you had before you received His salvation.
Which things, attitudes, and priorities do you need to change
in order to speed up the metamorphosis in your life?

God’s promises are true; when you allow Him to completely change you,
your life will change for the better.
And…you will have a more positive impact on those around you.

Pray,
“Heavenly Father, thank You for wanting to change me after I became a part
of Your family. I am thankful that You consider me important enough, and love
me enough to want to make me into a much better person, with a much better
outlook on life, and a desire to show You how much I appreciate Your efforts to
change me. You know what troubles me this very day and I give it all to You and
praise You, because I know Your love will not fail. Father, I pray that You will help
me make whatever changes I need to make in order for You to mold me into a
person who enjoys life on a brand new level.”

About Don Woodruff

Retired from FedEx and dedicated to sharing God's Word with others. I send out devotionals weekly and have written two books: "The Crucifixion Catalyst / Unspoken Messages From God To Believers" (published and available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble **out of print**) and "I'm Saved Now What?" (unpublished). I am currently working on a third one that will be a Daily Devotional. The devotionals on my Blog have been viewed by people in all 50 states and over 80 foreign countries. I sincerely believe the Lord provides the content for the devotionals and in 2013 He “tasked” me with distributing them and storing them on my Blog. They are free and I will not solicit any donations. I hope you enjoy them and feel free to leave comments if one of them speaks to you personally, or if you have a suggestion.
