HOW ARE YOU FULFILLING THE INSTRUCTIONS IN GOD’S WORD?

SCRIPTURE:
All your works praise you, Lord; your faithful people extol you. They tell
of the glory of your kingdom and speak of your might, so that all people
may know of your mighty acts and the glorious splendor of your kingdom.

MEDITATION:
Years ago there was a clergyman who had a friend who was an actor.
The actor was drawing large crowds of people,
and the clergyman was preaching to a few in the church.
The clergyman said to his friend,
“Why is it that you draw great crowds, and I have no audience at all?
Your words are sheer fiction, and mine are unchangeable truth.”

The actor’s reply was simple.
“I present my fiction as though it were truth;
you present your truth as though it were fiction.”
His point was that the clergyman did not show enough sincerity
and conviction about the things he shared with others.
There are so many times that we, as Christians,
give the idea that the truth is fiction by the way we live,
and by the lack of dedication to the teachings of our Lord.

The true faithful believers worship Him not in just a specific way,
but in many ways.
They worship Him alone and they praise Him in church with other believers.
John mentioned the importance of fellowshipping with other believers.
We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have
fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son,
Jesus Christ. (1 John 1:3-4)

Some believers have decided
to rewrite the instructions from God’s Words to fit their own desires.
In Hebrews, we are clearly told to meet together with other believers, but
still there those who have chosen to ignore (disobey) those instructions.
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good
deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing,
but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
(Hebrews 10:24-25)

We are given the reason it is important
to meet together – “to spur one another on toward love and good deeds”.
If believers do not encourage one another,
then where will we get our encouragement?
We are also told that meeting together becomes even more important when
we see signs pointing to the return of our Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ.

God’s faithful people (those fully committed to the Lord),
freely speak of the glory of His kingdom and His awesomeness.
They tell of His greatness by their dedication to worship and praise of Him.
Their daily lifestyle confirms their faith.

ACTION:
How is your lifestyle pointing others to the Lord?
Are you guilty of rewriting His Words to suit your own desires?
If you are a Christian
then you have a responsibility of pointing others to the Lord.
Obeying His instructions
is one way of showing others the sincerity of your faith.

Pray,
“Heavenly Father, I pray that I will understand the importance of how my
actions affect those who do not know You. Forgive me if I have been
neglectful or ignored Your words in the Bible. I pray that I will change my
lifestyle in order to improve my obedience to Your words. There are times
when I stumble into sin, but when I choose to disobey Your Words, that is
premeditated sin. Forgive me for those times and convict me of the changes
that You expect of me. My desire is to completely yield my life to You, so
that those who observe my life will know that my love and service to my
Savior is sincere, faithful and true.”

About Don Woodruff

Retired from FedEx and dedicated to sharing God's Word with others. I send out devotionals weekly and have written two books: "The Crucifixion Catalyst / Unspoken Messages From God To Believers" (published and available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble **out of print**) and "I'm Saved Now What?" (unpublished). I am currently working on a third one that will be a Daily Devotional. The devotionals on my Blog have been viewed by people in all 50 states and over 80 foreign countries. I sincerely believe the Lord provides the content for the devotionals and in 2013 He “tasked” me with distributing them and storing them on my Blog. They are free and I will not solicit any donations. I hope you enjoy them and feel free to leave comments if one of them speaks to you personally, or if you have a suggestion.
