SCRIPTURE:
Mary Magdalene went to the disciples with the news:
“I have seen the Lord!” And she told them that
He had said these things to her.
(John 20:18)
MEDITATION:
When Mary saw the Lord,
she felt a responsibility to tell others that she had seen Him.
She felt it was important for others to know of His existence.
We have the same responsibility once we have seen Jesus.
We may not have seen Him physically, but we have encountered Him personally.
As a result, we should understand the importance of telling others that He lives!
Not just that He lives with the Father, but that He also lives within our hearts.
The responsibility for telling about the risen Lord
falls on the shoulders of all believers.
Jesus Lives!
Death couldn’t shackle Him, and the grave couldn’t hold Him.
The resurrection of Jesus
still stirs the hearts of Christians in every corner of the world.
A broken home that He transformed into a loving family
testifies to the fact that He rose from the grave.
A church full of people eager to know Him better
and follow Him more completely shouts the good news of His resurrection.
A wayward child who ‘comes to himself’
is evidence that He lives and changes lives.
A persecuted follower of Christ who dies whispering a song about Jesus
testifies that He lives in the hearts of men.
ACTION:
Have you discovered that Jesus lives?
Does He live in your heart?
Are you keeping it to yourself or are you doing like Mary and telling others?
It doesn't mean you have to be 'preachy', it just means you look for
opportunities to share with others how He has changed your life.
It also means that when you see others hurting, you tell them
about the One who can help them through any difficulty.
Pray,
“Heavenly Father, thank You for the resurrection of Your Son, Jesus. Direct
my path so that I can tell someone about Jesus. Prepare me to be ready to tell
others about Jesus living in my heart. Show me how to allow the Holy Spirit
to guide my thoughts, actions and words, so that I will feel comfortable telling
others about Jesus and the blessings I have received by giving my life to Him.
Remind me of what He did for me so I will be enthused about telling others
about Him.”
About Don Woodruff
Retired from FedEx and dedicated to sharing God's Word with others. I send out devotionals weekly and have written two books: "The Crucifixion Catalyst / Unspoken Messages From God To Believers" (published and available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble **out of print**) and "I'm Saved Now What?" (unpublished). I am currently working on a third one that will be a Daily Devotional. The devotionals on my Blog have been viewed by people in all 50 states and over 80 foreign countries. I sincerely believe the Lord provides the content for the devotionals and in 2013 He “tasked” me with distributing them and storing them on my Blog. They are free and I will not solicit any donations. I hope you enjoy them and feel free to leave comments if one of them speaks to you personally, or if you have a suggestion.
